Boondock Saints

So I have read on a few sites that the sequel is actually going to be made. Has anyone heard any details about the movie?

they had that sequal stuff like 5 years ago, nothing ever happened. Dont know how they would make another now, they wouldnt be the same

I think they should do it. It's become a best selling dvd of all time. More people see it every year because of word of mouth and friends. If they could get the same core group of actors it would be good. It would unlikely be better than the first, but still better than 90 percent of movies being currently made. Don't give up hope for a sequal, the dvd sales right now are enough reason for a company to produce the sequal.

the sequel was called "All Saints Day", was in pre-production but has been shelved indefinitely.

ah that would be cool. hopefully, because you always risk ruining a good movie when making a sequal to a great movie

Definitely in my Top3 favorite movies ever... got a badass poster on my wall for twice the price of all the other posters but daymn was it worth it.

i thought the movie was cool, but i definitely wouldn't say it was a great or even good movie. RANT COMING: A movie is supposed to be like an emotional rollercoaster, manipulating you to feel happy then sad then happy again. Boondock Saints tried to, but kind of failed, mostly because of the character Rocko. The thing is, no matter how hard I tried, I just didn't like Rocko. They tried to make him out as the funny character who the serious characters like, even though he sometimes gets on their nerves. But Rocko just came off as a spineless, cowardly asshole who only stood up when he had stronger friends to get his back. He's a also a hypocrite, the way he yells at his girlfriend for being a slut, yet he ironicly is her boyfriend, until he shot her cat (which was hilarious btw). So back to the emotional rollercoaster: The filmakers needed to have a point in the movie when our emotions plummeted. All the while we are getting more and more caught up in the excitement of the plot and the brother's success, and the filmmaker should have had this lead up to a catastrophy, which the protagonists recover from in a tour de force. They tried to make a catastrophy by having the Russian mob boss kill Rocko. We are obviously supposed to lament Rocko's death, and thus hate the man who killed him, but frankly, I couldn't care less that Rocko died. I thought he was a dick, and I couldn't identify with the way the brothers so fervently sought justice against the Russian. What we needed as an audience, was for one of the characters we loved, to die, and the characters we love in Boondock Saints are the brothers. Had the filmakers had the Russian mobster kill one of the brothers, then we would be filled with anger and hatred and relish in the revenge exacted upon the killer. Instead, we're just left with the feeling that the Russian Don probably deserved to die, but I just didn't feel the swooping triumph that I should have felt as they delivered their final blow. Boondock Saints goes to show that too much of a good thing really can ruin a movie with serious potential. *Whew*

you must not be italian..

dude i get mad fuckin emotional during that part i feel like it was a really well developed character and the friendship he had with the brothers and how savagely hes killed right next to them, twas pretty hard core

good flick yo

explain to me how my comment about rocko being italian and his character development had anything to do with the brothers being irish????

i said "you must not be italian" to the kid who hated rockos character because i have about 4 cousins who are just like rocko and i find it histerical, dirty wops. regardless, what the fuck are u talkin about

THANK YOU "III"!!!! finally someone on here agrees with me. ive said over and over, the movie has a great idea/concept but the plot is just lame, people just like it because its a cool idea and has some action. and its mad corny

i agree but its sorta one of those omvies that you dont analyze to much its just like kinda badass and funny, not really emotional im trying to think of another movie like it but all that comes to mind is the first transporter, but thats not the best example

It's badass and funny as hell... and occassionally emotional. I liked Rocco. That being said, that's not it's major purpose. It's just a tight, well-done movie. That's awesome.
