I'm sorry if there is a thread about this, I searchbarred, but I found nothing.

I saw an add for this in SKI magazine, has anyone had any experience with them? They make a few skis and I've obviously never heard of them, so I wanted to find out a little more. Some of the stuff they make seems pretty interesting. Any info is great. Whatta you all think?

Hey man, Boomtown skis are made in Nelson BC where I live. For the most part they're garbage. Boomtown is a second hand sports outlet then all of a sudden the 60 year old weird ass owner decided to start producing skis that fall about. He does have a new prototype in the shop right now that I was playing with that seems weird. from hand flexing and playing with it it looks and feels like a softer, more rockered JJ.

But yeah, I'm all for getting support for a local business like boomtown, but unfortunately the skis suck.

* should also note that I haven't heard of the line of bamboo skis breaking. I guess they're a little more legitimate, but still..

Cool thanks for info. I emailed the guy, he said the skis with the bamboo cores are more durable. Anyway thanks for the info, +K
