I loved Farenheit 451. I like all of Stenbeck's work, The Grapes of Wrath, East of Eden (etc etc) but you have to have a certain appreciation to enjoy his writing.

-Lauren

the only pelzer books that were good were the first and second (even though they were rather disturbing) but i didn't like the third one- it was to repetative of the first two.

farenheit 451 was ok but it was hard to follow because they moveed around alot.

Just say F@$# it and huck it!

There is a genre of Canadian lit called The Prarie Novel, such as Fruits of the Earth that are the most bleak, cut your wrists boring pieces of man-against-the-earth crap I have ever come across - and that is over the course of an entire English Lit Degree.

if anyone has the patience to read a huge book, read 'IT' by stephen king. it is insane, it sucks u in and it freaks u out like no other. its long, but its worth it.

and books not to read...dont read a tale of 2 cities. it sux, nothing happens in it

wuthering heights. holy shitty waste of 5 hours. sooooo bad.

'One good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain'

yea i just think about when shakespeare came up, and he was so revolutionary, like... you gotta think about what was going on when he came out.. its intense.. but now, for todays youth, its a boring read,

sakespeare, tho i didnt like any of his comedies, i loved most of his tragedies...macbeth, richard III, Julius Caeser, Titus...romeo and juliet is way way overrated tho.

There isnt a single book i dont like, i have read the bible, and mein kempf. I dont know how Mein Kempf was a bad book, its just a different point of view, thats not to say i agree with it, i just try and keep an open mind when it comes to that shit.

I didn't say he sucked, I said he was hard to read, thus I wouldn't recommend it. Finnegan's Wake is probably the pinnacle of his work though.

Here's a link to the first page.

i kinda like shakespere. but NEVER read wuthering heights...its soo soo boring and all the characters are named the same.

...Now I just can't shut you up, shut you up

So now I have to chop you up, chop you up

And I'll just wait till I get caught...

I think a lot of Shakespeare is kind of cliched... but back in the times of when it was written it probably wasn't... I don't know. But he's alright. I love Midsummer. Great play.

-Lauren

yes, i agree wuthering heights was the worst book ever conceived. No plot whatsoever, it was like a boring ass 19th century soap opera.

Obasan it sucks sooo bad, our teacher made us read it in grade 7 and he said, ' You kids will be ready for university, I read that book in my first year.' or some shit like that, no one understood it...plus most of the books in english class suck

Just a thought

'Hey check this out'

Ok, first of all, Shakespeare didn't write cliches, he used the phrases, first and everyone else copied him, creating the cliche. Yeah, its kind of ass to read his stuff, but then its pretty hard to read a movie script too. Go and see a Shakespearian play done by a troupe that knows what he was talking about and you'll see things differently. WS was a filty, filthy man, and has plenty to say to the youth of today, its just a matter of who is reciting and acting it out.

The remake of Romeo and Julitte wasn't so bad for that to be honest.
