Bolton

we didnt set those up they were all already there. i dont know how the tiny rail got up that far we just put the snow there to hit the stuff. and hey it was fun!

Base is looking ok....lots of people love the woods at bolton (it's definitely the best we have to offer). But ya, it got packed good in the popular spots and should be sick today after like 6 inches or so of fresh last night. And there are always some stashes of super deep stuff left too.
Don't forget....Enchanted Forest....from now on called Enchanted Organics, Bolton's 100% organic park!
It was super good to meet most of you last night, stop by and say hi anytime! -Nick

^It was good. Just got to work from some morning riding and the 5-7" reported skied very nicely thanks to some bonuses from the wind.
Enchanted Forest??? I still don't know where this is....
I hate being a noob to a mountain, I don't have time to waste hunting for stashes, but I need to find the freshies. Oh well, I'll learn. I didn't learn my way around Stowe in one season.
Any hints on the goods? Skiers left or skiers right?

It's the trees just above the jungle jib.....it was cut for little kids a long time ago.....and has nice wide single lane with lots of cool offshoots and such. Just one real hit right now, but we will get back in there soon.
Also, if you can on sunday.....for all of you...get to timberline and ski Lost Boys. In my opinion, the best trail at Bolton.

if yer there saturday i could show u a thing or two. i ski libertys with a yellow helmet, blue jacket, and yellow pants. I know the goods of bolton. i'll be skiing fresh timberline all morning on saturday so hit it up after pressyz!

Nah, they are waiting to finish up timberline today and will then fix our J.J. pump and start blowing the main park as well (I think, I can find out prospective dates this weekend sometime). But I'll be free skiing most of the day today, and it'd be sick to rip through the tree w/ you guys. I'll keep and eye out for you....I'll be rockin a black saga vest with blue sleeves and black poc helmet.....
Happy Holidays!

i've been down here in NY for chrismas, but i'll be back up tomorrow. did any of last night's storm make it up to vt? there's a couple of new inches here.

^ yeah, we got like 3-6 inches.....but it's super windy, so I can't really tell how much is staying on the mountain (the trees should be good though!). And also, no lifts ran today, which should make tomorrow's skiing even better. As long as the wind dies sometime over night....tomorrow will be sick.
On an unrelated note.....I NEED a jump, and if the snow is right I'll be in the enchanted forest trying to find the best spot.
Oh yeah.....go to timberline for snow.....there was nothing but freshies yesterday + no lift and snow today = profit tomorrow!!!!!!!!!

super stoked, i'll be up asapmy brother's sick, so i'm just hoping that i won't get what he has.so sounds like timberline is where it's at, so i'll probly be therealso, is wilderness open yet? there's some sick lines over there that i want to hit before the tard kids find them

w/ skins, or just boots?i thought it would be much longer, but if it's just 10 mins i'll have to consider it. of course there is a chance of considerable amounts of pow in my stashes still

What are the chances BV will still be on wind hold tomorrow? The wind is still going to be around 20mph with gusts at 30

well i doubt there are stashes over there I havent skied haha. Boltons been my bitch for about 8 years now. I just hiked with boots. It's a pretty mellow hike up that spine to the top. in this vid r some runs on wilderness and solitude before it openedhttp://www.vimeo.com/18073399

True story: the hike to wilderness from Swing/Vista glades is only 15-20 min.....I go slow homie! And I have no idea what you^^ are saying.....but there are plenty of stashes of good snow left. Most of what came down over that last 24 hrs has blown straight into the trees.....and the stuff on the ground has been drifting like crazy. But anywho....the lifts will most likely be on wind hold for the morning (check BV site for sure), but it's supposed to die down later and we should be good for afternoon/night skiing.

If anyone found a GoPro HD in the Parking lot (or maybe lodge) this past week I would love to get the one that I lost back. I am pretty confident that it was stolen out of my car, but just in case someone did find it, i would love it back and reward you handsomely, no questions asked

I will def. keep an eye out...any marks/stickers/mounts that may be identifiable?----this seems like a no brainer, but you did call guest services, yeah?
Also, this is at least the fourth or fifth time this year I have heard of stuff being stolen at Bolton this year, and two of those time have been stuff in cars.....please be careful, especially with the holiday crowds.
On a new note.....rain has killed our plans for the second time this year......and we will begin blowing the big park after this weekends warm spell. I'll let you guys know a date when I have a realistic idea.

too truei think it may have gotten a little above freezing yesterday in the sun in some places, at least at timberline (lots of people skiing on snow can also raise the temp) , and it refroze last night making places really hard and icywhere there is still pow it's not the fluffy nice stuff, it's really packed from the wind, and there was a crust on top
i just hope the warm spell doesn't last too long and that there is no rain

Fan guns will go on in the big park today/tonight, as soon as the temp drops to 25!I'll give more details when I have them.-NIck

There is no snow.....there will be no snow in the parks until mid week now.....so yeah, I packing my shit and moving west after this season....the east coast is so fkn depressing

do you know if jungle jib will be reopened for wednesday night?
that's the first day CVU ski/ snowboard club is coming up

I don't know....I wasn't up there yesterday, but I have a pretty good idea of how bad the jungle mud can be. We will do our best to have something set up for the week (no promises though srry).
On a better note, the rumor is the fan guns in the big park went on last night.

Awesome! What's the ETA...errrr ETCC (Estimated Time of Completed Construction)?

Unfortunately I won't be up there tomorrow. Maybe friday if there ends up being some substantial accumulation. Or at least enough to cover up the ice.

I can't say for sure...today is day three of blowing, and we probably have two or three more days of that. Then one day to push everything flat and even out the fall line. One day to push tables and a day to install rails and boxes......so we're are lookin at sometime mid to late next week for a full park.
I will let you guys know what the real date is as soon as I have it.....

Saw all the guns roaring on Butterscotch yesterday, Yeah Yeah Yeah. Great work BV getting Jungle Jib back and rideable for the meantime while we wait.
Can't wait to see what gets setup for jumps and rails.

First and foremost, the bad news....JJ is closed today for snowmaking. I sucks I know (even more 'cause it's my day off), but it means the little black rails are gone (meases pieces......) and I think we will be putting in the rainbow and the freshly redone trap box sometime soon.
The good news is that 80% of the snowmaking going on at Bolton is being done in butterscrotch park.....We are in the process of finalizing layouts and discussing build days, but I would say the big park will be open thursday or friday of next week.
Also, with the down time I've had at work, due to lack of large park, I have redone the plastic on the flat box in JJ, the trap box, the A frame, and the down-flat-down box. Plus, Allison has totally resurrected our old flat-down box and it's looking so fresh and clean! So it's looking like we should be in business really soon, if you guys have any questions or last minute ideas let me know this weekend so your input can be heard.
-Nick

Anyone coming up here today? It's snowing pretty good right now and I got the morning off because we are still making snow in JJ.....I'll be rippin Tline at first and then over to Vista later...

going up sunday, should be pretty decent. i was at mrg today, which was only running one lift, so looking forward to skiing full mountain tomorrow.

Goddammit Bolton!

All the woods had no base

All the runs that are fun are closed

Wilderness was closed

Main park still closed

Jib Jungle closed

Plus on top of that I am almost certain ski school followed me around the mountain a from timberline to the main part and back.

Goddammit Bolton!

Perfect description of yesterday at Bolton! hahahaha
Anyway, JJ will re-open.....the snow report says "rebuilt", but I have no idea what they are talking about. I think it's the same minus the black rails, but it will be rebuilt soon. I have the day off....will be rippin the few inches of fresh we picked up last night....then I will be in JJ for the afternoon.

How's the park build coming along?
Hopefully all the pumps and air compressors stayed online, cause we want big jumps! It looked like a ton of snow had been made when I was last up on Sunday. (Which was mayhem over at the main base). The snow report claims Spillway and both parks will be ready for MLK weekend.... any chance they'll be ready a little before that for some night time "safety checks"?
Keep up the good work, you guys work hard for our benefit, thanks.

Park is being pushed out right now. The main table(s) are starting to take shape and are looking nice and big. Just to give an idea, the snowmakers blew about 33% more snow this year. I'm not sure on and opening date yet, but I'd say friday night/saturday morning (will know by tomorrow). And I'm sure Allison will post some pics tomorrow.
And yes, meases pieces, the black rails have been on my mind and I'm workin' on it.....just let us open up the butterscrotch first.

wow i really didnt mean it when i said they were THAT bad. dont take it personaly at all. i may be up tomorrow but i know most everyone else you met wil be up. CVU dreestyle club is coming up for some night skiing. is it true that Night riders will be a rail jam next wednesday? im excited!

Pumped for the first day of Night Riders.

I hope the main parks opens soon; too bad a groomer just broke down :(

hahaha....no worries about the black rails.....they got re-set after we blew some snow....and I am now as well desiring a change.
Anyway groomers are always breaking down....and then being fixed.....it's not as huge issue, but it is something that can set us back with moving rails and boxes around.
Night riders on weds will be a rail jam. I should get a chance to session with you guys tonight.....but I really hope we are building!
Oh yeah, we got well over a foot of snow on Monday.....looking at 4-8 more today! Trees have been baller.

Barring any major mishaps, the big park should be open sometime on saturday. In the meantime, go find some fresh.....the snow is unbelievable!

it sucks that we couldn't make it up yesterday, there was just too much snow, and everything got canceled. there should be a lot of new snow up there from yesterday right? like over a foot?

anyway, i'm really excited for the three day weekend, skiing pow and maybe the big park (hopefully)

Snow is great. They opened Timberline a little early this morning and I got at least two extra runs in before going to work. Yeah Powder Skiing!

The park will not open tomorrow....huge sorry. We had to give up the groomer at 8, because our regular machine is down till monday, so we couldn't finish tonight.
