Bolton valley

gahh they have entirely too much snow to close in a week. their park looks exactly the same it did a month ago, in the middle of the season.. they should just keep running the park lift..

I heard they're taking down the park after this coming weekend. Not really sure why they would decide to do that.

yea their being so lame. closing with 100 % coverage. o well im just gonna hike and set up soem skick ass jibs. we shoudl have a sicvk burling ton kids session mad sick jibs and hotdogs.

i don't understand why the eastern resorts tend to close so early. I grew up in the 802 and it seemed like resorts would start closing just when spring skiing was at its best. Burke closes this weekend, the middburybowl is done for the season, and now bolton is thinking of closing down? doesn't make much sense since they are closing at full capacity and coverage.

Well some places, like Smuggs and a bunch of others, are on state or national forest land. The agreement they have worked out is something like Nov 25th to April 15th, which cannot be changed. The places other than that are just being lame. At least Jay is staying open as long as they can.

Just as in any other business its all about the $$$. Tourists aren't booking ski vacations to the EC in April, so the resort has no incentive to stay open. It sucks and its bullshit but its a business and its all about the $$ for them in the end.

yeah the business aspect of things makes total sense, but i would think they could operate fewer lifts and keep the locals coming back a little longer. My home area closed last season like a week before we got dumped on... i had to hike it for the 15" or whatever it was that fell. Can't complain though, no1 else was there.
