Bolton 11/12

The Geology of Butters does suck! Ledges, double fall lines, lack of length. I can't tell you how badly I've wanted to put in dynamite and level her out. We will try our best to make a better jump line. I don't know if we'll remove that specific jump area; Wilkins needs a 40 footer.

Sorry, just so you guys know, it's the *topography that's holding us back. The granite never did anything to us..........

Wait.... aren't we talking about the big rock ledge? So in fact the granite is restricting our possibilities Stupid granite - the geology of which is messing up our park's topography - you are always in the way.

We are definitely talking about the huge granite ledge in the middle of our park. I, however, am not concerned with the formation, development, composition, or classification of the granite and am more focused on the ledge's impact on the trail's landscape and fall line...........which is topography. Think about it like if we were to blow up the ledge, as Allison suggested, we would be changing the trails overall landscape and fall line; the topography would change. All of the tiny pieces of granite are still the same though, nothing about what the rock is or how it was made has changed.

Step 1: Invent time machine

Step 2: Sell time machine and raise tons of money

Step 3: Use said money to build enormous refrigerated dome around BV

Step 4: ???????????????????????????????????????

Step 5: Profit

Bolton Valley

We plan to get back out and start making snow this evening when the temps drop. Our plan is to open on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30am - 4pm. We're looking at Mid-Mountain Lift with skiing on Bear Run and Beech Seal. We'll also have the Mighty Mite open. We will then shut down on Monday and plan to re-open Friday, December 16th.

really hoping to get a small set up for opening day......no promises though, as of now there is just not that much snow

I used a wagon to get plowed snow from the edge of my street to my backyard. You guys have acres worth of snow from the parking lots and cats. That's enough for a few rails and a jump or two at least. Whatever it takes haha.

I just said no promises.... That doesn't mean no, it's means I'm gonna do my best to make this weekend fun. Trust me, I want slippery plastic and metal as much as you guys do. When I left the mountain yesterday there was very little coverage......and all of the manmade stuff is still in large piles. When the piles get pushed out we will have a better sense of what is realistic....and remember, this weekend is a gift. Real opening next weekend.

Also, on a very positive note.....we are looking at five new tube features this year. They are currently having the finishing touches (end caps and such) done, and the first should be ready for next weekend. With the rest sometime around Xmass.

^^Dear Meases Pieces,

These new features are currently black, making them 'stupid black rails'. I'm very sorry for this. I hope you can look past their color and give them a fair shot.

Thanks to the new head of Ski School, we were able to put a flat box on the mighty mite. Finally after four or five years, we had a box on opening day.

First of all max needs to make an edit of saturday

second. Are you guys doing night skiing wednesday through saturday this week? and what will be set up thursday?

We are open for night skiing weds, thurs and friday this week......no saturday night because of Jesus.

We are hoping to build a jib park above mid-mountain somewhere (wherever there is the most snow).....the build is scheduled for tomorrow, but it could be as late as thurs or friday depending on what tomorrow's weather brings.

Set up will probably include flat tube, flat box, kink box (flat-down or dfd) and another tube of some kind......but it will really depend TOTALLY on the amount of snow and the space we are given.

And now, for the hype train........

It's looking like we won't be on schedule for a park this week.....snowmaking is a few days behind schedule. We will hopefully be building saturday, early morning.....but don't get your hopes up, this is our third setback because of this shit weather.

Meh....it's pretty bleak up here too.

But, we did manage to move some stuff around and rain makes digging easier.............hinthint

Also, my last two posts are lies........all lies :)

WHERE IS THIS? Lots and lots of excitement... Also there's not enough footy to make an edit yet... Cough we're filming a lot this week cough.
