I'm glad to see you guys are excited for the upcoming season! The crew is equally excited, and has been planning and scheming a whole bunch. Hopefully the resort will let us get the ball moving soon.

We need a bump. Starting to get the crew ready for the season. We have one or two part time spots for Wednesday night and Saturday night open. You must be 18 or older to be hired. Please facebook if you are interested.

I will be at the job fair this saturday 10/22 come by, say hello, talk park, and drop off an application........we have a few part-time spots open for park crew (like nights and weekends, plus holiday shifts). Hope to see you guys there,

Nick

Also, if you don't ride at Bolton and/or I don't know you, please have a comp resume, video, or recommendation from someone reputable. We are trying to do things a bit better every year, and good riders/skiers on park crew is a must. (these are not required to get a job, but they would help a lot!)

Hey Nick I was up hiking at bolton last friday and checked out the rails/ boxes on the way down. What happened to the two little 10ft-ish boxes? They were super fun to hit last year pre-season but they weren't with the other ones.

I was in Cali when stuff got put away last year......I think the small stuff is all together by our shack (it may be locked up, but if it snows that could change real easy)

I remember seeing that cut out of Maggie once last season, that trail's sick. That cliff looks awesome, was it near the cut out?

Also you should check out the area around Solitude. We did some work on the cliff band in between the main trail and the waterfall, and also opened up the base of the waterfall a bit more so there's more room to run out.

If someone wanted to go on a rampage against the balsams up on Ricker it wouldn't be too hard to open up another chute because the trees are all so small.

Keep us posted on the snow. There was some up on Mansfield on Sunday, but not until over 4000'. Later this week looks promising, hopefully it'll come soon.

Maggie seems to mark extreme skiers left of the drop (oh, and yes they are pictures of the same drop, top down and bottom up).......but if you look at the picture from below you can see the possibilities.....there is also a second drop below this that isn't as well cut out (almost just as big) and a huge down tree over a little 4 footer (perfect!) in the same area. This place is amazing.....plus it's hike only so it wont be too tracked out on a snowy day.And the Tline area is next on my list...

Going to be riding bolton for the first time this year, probably just nights but who knows. I'm so stoked for some night skiing there.

It seems every other mountain in Vermont has gotten snow, and I just want to assure everyone that no, Bolton has not been left out. Here's some stoke from today. All these are at Timberline, and the main area got a couple inches more (I'm assuming.)

hey could you possibly put those mini boxes/ rail out there for us to maybe hike n hit some time? the ski season needs to happen soon

I can't put them out for you.......but if there is some decent snow and they happen to get set up by a group of people.......that might just fly

You mean like how some random flat box was moved and set up by two individuals after BV closed?

I will be at the today, Saturday 11/5. We are looking to fill one part-time position for a couple nights, a weekend day, and holidays. If you have one, please bring a competition resume, video, or reputable recommendation. See you there.

Allison

Howdy Y'all,

Getting psyched for a BV winter again. Can't wait to see what the hard working park crew has waiting for us.

How about some new rails? Or a step over jump?

Right now we are plundering the woods for unused and tossed snow making pipe. Hopefully there will be at least two new features. We've talked about setting up all tubes in the Jungle Jib. I think its tubular, but I've been told I'm lame and stuck in the 80's.

^^some of that is tube for legs and some is spare/trial because it's hard to tell how much the tube was damaged by rust before grinding the first layer off.All in all, I think we're looking at a few new features for this winter!

sick! this is gonna be my first year at bolton. if that fat one isnt long enough you should turn it sideways and make it into a tube tap that you could also slide.

Already on top of it.......that was the first thing other nick said when we found it in the woods.

I just wanna say, have some faith this year......last year was better and this year nick and I have some real plans, Allison is behind us 100% and the park will be greatly improved with a few new tubes and some minor layout changes.

Oh and I'm gonna say we got at least 4 inches already........and it's still coming down pretty good!

Dec. 9 I'm pretty sure..........Bolton almost always (in the last few years) opens the second weekend in december and closes thee second weekend in april.

We'd love to have it open for the first day, but that all depends on mother nature. The snowmaking plan before Thanksgiving was to have at least one top to bottom run for the 9th. If we can't get the JJ by then, the boys and I have been desperately scheming to set up a rail or two on bear run.

Some real exciting news: the welders come this week to birth new features!

Dear meases pieces,

We have actually acquired 17 more short stupid black rails. They will be replacing older, less used, features like the down bar and the DFD rail. Also, if you haven't figured it out already, the pictures of the pipes we've been prepping for the welders are actually only blown up pictures of the black rails! (pretty sweet photo shop skillz, I know).....So in all likelyhood look for JJ to be stupib black rail park (don't let the name fool you meases, it'll be dopefresh!) and then all black rails in butters, except for your favorite, the rainbow box (cuz I know how you love rainbows and such).

Sorry meases pieces.....you just make it too easy sometimes. And for cereal, we have at least one 20 ft tube in the works.

I second the motion to use the big fat tube as a stall bar / bonk thing. I envision a "hitching post" setup like Xgames a couple of years ago.

How about totally rethinking the jumps this year? It is old hat to have that step down in the same place every year. I know the geology of the trail needs to take advantage of the natural knoll where that step down usually is, but I urge for some rethinking.

Like last year, my suggestion is for a triple jump line of step overs / table tops would be awesome. I realize that calls for a LOT of snow making unfortunately.

See you all up on the hill soon!
