Boiling eggs

so I was just boiling eggs, and I'm like, wtf, why is this water not boiling.

after a few minutes, some white foamy stuff appeared on the surface, and it really stank.

I'm like, sweet, I leave for about 5 minutes and come back to see if the water is bouling...nope, but there sure as hell is a lot of this foamy white crap.

Like wtf mates, so I touch the handle of the pot, move it around a bit, and the water begins to boil VIOLENTELY.

shit sprayed all over the place...okay...so I'm in chemistry and physics and I have never heard of why this would happen...then i start to think

what if one of my eggs has one of those embryo things in it, and I've like boiled it out into white foam, and it's acting like some kind of an insulator?

well, I'm afraid to look in the pot, anyone have any suggestions

look in the pot u sissy.....and y didnt u get burned!....so it must just all be a lie.....LIER!....sheldon is a big lier!

Well i saw on mythbusters they did this thing where they boiled water in a microwave but it didnt bubble until they disturbed the water with a fork. So its something to due with the motion of moleucles or something thats why it shot out violently. Either that or im totally bulshitting this.

yea ur boiling your eggs wrong. Just stick it in the microwave and out your face real close so you can see the egg.

Was it distilled water? This was on mythbusters. Distilled water doesnt boil but once you get it hot enough and you move the water it will like explode.

yeah, its called superheating, the water gets so hot that it doesnt even boil, and they when you disturb the surface tension, its blows up.
