Bohemia and Marquette Feb 1,2,3,4

Me and powderchowda and skatefilly are heading to bohemia and doing 1 or 2 there then 1 or 2 at MM. Any hospitable NSers up there?? Where is a cheap dirty place to stay?

Any local secrets or fun things to do? How are conditions?
 
Bohemia is really good right now. The cover is good. The base is good. hardly hitting anything. If you can get into the Hostel at Bohemia it is only 20 bucks a night. have to bring your own sheets and pillows and stuff and it is a hostel.
 
we were gonna stay at the hostel, but splitting a shitty hotel room is cheaper with 4 ppl, than the hostel.
 
where are you coming from? me and one buddy for sure are headed up to the same places on the same dates from grand rapids MI. I was actually going to make this same thread and just noticed this one haha
 
Bohemia is super sick, youre gonna love it. for a cheap hotel check out the Lac la Belle lodge. Or anything in copper harbor.

P.S its usually a little "hazy" in the trees up there
 
Just an fyi. It is raining right now. But !0 inches is supposed to fall tomorrow into Wednesday. And maybe the lake effect will keep going after that.
 
there jumpline was solid like over a month ago, not the best grooming day to day, but it'll beat just about anywhere else you go.

they have a full size range from 5 to over 50 feet and everything in between, totally worth your time. also it's puking here in hougton right now, the bohemes will be nice for the next 2 days for sure.
 
Yeah this is some crazy weather. had 50 degrees monday and tuesday, lost most of our snow and then basically a white out today with colleges cancelled
 
me and my boys are heading up saturday, crashin in the car, then skiing saturday adn sunday at bohemia. We are staying at some hotel, super 8 i think.

hows the sniow looking since it was warm? i know you are getting dumped on up there.
 
Well at 3 when Ripley opened it was complete shit a solid icy zone of ice.

Then it started snowing at about 6 and by 8 it was pretty decent. We had about 35 mph winds and it was drifting like mad I was hitting deep pow in spots.

And now today Bohemia and Ripley are closed do to blizzard like conditions. We have no school and there is nothing to do!
 
Just back back from Bohemia. The bear den was good and so was the back country. Front sucked it was super icy under the few inches of fresh. I didn't hit much ice in the Den though.
 
even if they don't get a lot of snow you can still get fresh tracks, just got to work a little. Spent the day yesterday boot deep, the future glades still had some nice snow.
 
i had a lot of fun all day sunday at bohemia. esp when the sun came out. i scored a nice knee deep run through a creek bed. me and my buddy kept travering the whole hill ending in an uphill battle, that was shitty, but other than that it was a blast.

went to marquette on monday, skied for cheap/free. park was great until the snow came. After that was shredding the pow.
