Hard tricks and some good skiers, but the footy is a bit samey and the 80s goof-off angle is over over over for any video related to snowsports.

I don't like the ppl using the moral high ground "we tried our best / we ski every day / we're poor" to defend the movie, just use the movie to do that. And J.D. May has every right to say what he says - whenever I come here and read msgs by the ppl apparently in the Bogart crew eg. the Dadali bros, I register absolutely zero personality. And I'm not J.D.'s friend sticking up for him or anything - in fact the last post I made to him was an insult, a few months ago.

 
The music in it will be mainly weird stuff and not 80s,

ahmet and giray have pleanty of personality, they just get carried away sometimes as does 90 percent of ns, and they are a junior and freshman in highschool so don't expect college english major level responses like jd mays

It's a pretty sad day when people assume that NO ONE could have the necessary vocabulary to talk as if they have a brain in their head... I don't actually own a thesaurus, much less bother to use one to type messages on this joke of a forum. It's not really an intellectual environment, in case you hadn't noticed, and in light of that there wouldn't be much of a point.

Strangely enough I do talk like I write sometimes... which sounds downright weird, I try to avoid it.

dude the "widescreen" shots were NEVER HD. Just a better cam/ even just a tripod....the whole trailer could have looked like that if the Bogart niggas knew how to colour correct...

Well AD was right, so fuck off fredsters_s. Will (fakieseven) has sony HD and has for more then a year now. Some of the shots are done in HD and thats the way it will be for the movie. We have 5+ cammras we shot with, rangeing from HD to 200$ shit ass cammras.

 
Also fredsters_s if you didnt noticed the trailer was not some how ever many 100 megs and about 20, so everything was compressed, making it look about all the same.

 
Actually fag, if you watch the trailer you can see the MASSIVE difference between the 'HD' shots and the shitty cam shots...and the point is that even though you may have an 'HD' Camera, that footage is NOT HD, as it is encoded with the DV

But it is higher quality than your average DV, DUE to the fact that it is shot on an HD camera. It may not be in HD format but it still retains alot of the qualities when converted to DV.

^word....its shot with an HD cam maybe not encoded in one but tis shot with one. so therefore its high def. wills dad has liek 3 high def cameras...its funny how this thread always comes back

Wow, lets look at what you've said here.

First, It's NOT encoded with the DV codec, all HD shots are edited as HD; they remain in their native 1080i HD mpeg, and are edited that way. Even when the shots are combined with standard NTSC DV shots they remain HD, no re-encoding takes place at all. When it's compressed to mpeg-4, then yes, you can't tell the difference as much, especially when the target bitrate is only 600 or so kbits/s.

I will give you credit, the double kink ledge was not a Hi-Def shot, it was shot with a GL1, but that's the only widescreen shot in the trailer that's not HD.

i dotn see hwo you say level one...just because its an east coast movie along with 10 other big movies from the east its not A "level 1"....level 1 has bc booters, we dont. big diff. level one is mainly shot out west now dickhead. the only east stuff in it is urban. thats like me saying that offtrail productions is an msp or tgr cause its shot mainly out west. dont be so stereotypical

dude just because it is shot with a hi-def camera it DOES NOT mean that it is HD...to play HD you need to have quiktime 7 - which this computer doesn't have and still plays it. Hence, its not HD.

You are basically attempting to call them out to make yourself look "technologically advanced". No one cares what the fuck you know or whether or not the shot is in TRUE HD format. The fact of the matter is that it was shot on an HD camera so the quality is gonna be better than most other cameras.

First off, you DON'T need quicktime7 to play HD clips, I can think of several media players out there right now that play it, INCLUDING Windows Media Player.

But the real point your missing is, of course the trailer isn't going to be HD, no one can download a 3 gig trailer to watch. It first has to be compressed (using, in this case, the mpeg-4 codec) to a downloadable size, and when doing so, you get quality loss. Plain and simple. I would think if you can't understand that, you have NO right to argue about it in the first place.

The DVD won't even be "true" HD either, because there aren't any comsumer-level Hi-Def DVD players available yet. Before you can put the movie onto DVD, it must be encoded in DVD mpeg-2, and you will get quality loss there too, but the HD shots still look noticably better than any other 3-chip camera shots.

Mate I think you are misunderstanding the point of HD/H264. The point is for SCALEABLE codecs, ie. h264, so no it wouldnt be 4 gig. And yes, I agree, its not HD! Which is what I said originally.
