Body armor?

go for it man. I'm thinking about buying something like that. Some people might call you a pussy but seriously who cares? Is there any reason in hurting yourself? It can be the difference between a ruined day or getting a little shaken up

^^^ ya i don't think your gonna be efficient with that back brace either. maybe the nut/hip guarding stuff though.

i got the nut hip stuff already would that be better...

i have it all for downhill mountain biking though im not buyin it again for skiing

do you always do what your mom wants? if your mom wants you to get it so bad... have her buy it, bring it with you and dont wear it...

That looks way too intense. I've seen some really low profile cool ones I would wear if someone got them for me or something.

There's one that has like a huge thing for your back, and pants which are basically just like a girdle for football but with built in pads, and a lot more of them. The girdle thing I would totally wear, I'm sick of bruised hips, and I'm scared I'm gonna mess up my tailbone, and we all know once you hurt that decently your fucked

that looks pretty cool, i dunno if it would fit under your coat, or make you feel like a loser, or actually work, but im thinkin that if you take a spill and hit your head with a helmet or not it is going to hurt when your brains get swirled around

there is a snowboarder at my local hill that wears all armor and has a crazy ass helemt with a dildo on top and sex stickers all over his board armor and helmet and he just goes into tree runs like like falls on purpose its weird

That stuff is made for racing sportbikes, where you barely move around at all. Hard armor like that is not what you want for sports that require more movement. Get some softer pads wherever you feel you need them.

its actually for downhill mountain biking which does require a lot of movement... it also might be good for a bit of collarbone stuff cause i wear a full face helmet and those things snap collarbones really eassy

not really... its all really really tight so it doesnt hang on you and its all mesh other places except fot eh pads.

Hmm I didn't know dainese made MTB stuff. Wear it once and see how it goes, but I think it'll be cumbersome enough to outweigh the benefit. But damn, this thread made me want to go jump on my racebike. Too bad it's raining =(

Understand that. You wouldn't want missing and smashed teeth. But I don't wear one. I know a snowboarder who rides for burton and swears by back protectors, and only 1 kid that skis with it, because his parents make him.

a company called six six one (sixsixone.com) makes great padding for mountain biking. but they make the same stuff altered for ski/snowboarding. they make some nice padded vests, that protect your chest, collarbone, spine and kidneys well. broken ribs and collarbones arent much fun.

go for it dude its worth it. most of my worst falls, a few of which have been really bad, have happened on stupid freakish thiings not going huge and doing something crazy or stupid. im lookin to by soime too and you should try and find some shorts/pants to go with the jacket. demon, forcefield, sixsixone, and crash pads are also some really good companies. and also try to remember that soft shell is a lot more comfortable and easier to move in than hard shell but still gives a good amount of protection.

you could always buy a girdle, hip pads and a tailbone pad like football players use for prob 15$ at the most instead of 180$ thats a rip off...

hey man i wear a set of that stuff now because if i do any more nerve damage to my shoulder i'ma loose function in my right arm. so the only way i can avoid being paralized is to tkae some precautions, and i'm not gonna give up skiing over it you know?

i find that it really doesnt restrict any movement, it makes you look alot bigger and you look kinda goofy with such a huge upper body... you can pretty much zip off any of the parts that get annoying, but i find that the back thing is pretty nice on really icy days, esp if you eat shit really hard landing switch, you just slide and slide and slide hahaha theres alot less bumps and bruises which is nice, and it doesnt really get in the way... but try it out, zip off the stuff that bugs you and if you dont like it dont wear it.

always wear it if you are downhilling on your bike. try it out skiing. i've already had two season ending injuries and if you can take a big hit and still ride it's worth it.
