BODE

i dont see why there is so much hostility towards racing and bode in general. im not trying to start one of those stupid back and forth juvenile argueing threads but i really dont get it. bode is the first american to win a world cup overall in over 20 years people should respect that. also he is one of the strongest skiers ive ever met. he could rip the hell out any mountain you put him on drop big cliffs and even hit jumps and rails. and so what he isnt a park skier he still deserves respect for what he does he is by far one of the best skiers in the world if not the best. i love skiing and respect anyone who can ski as well as bode does i dont care that he skis down a race course and not in a half pipe it really isnt any different to me.

yeah props to bode hes an insane skier but back in i dont know when tanner hall had a quote along the lines that freestylers can do what racers do but racers cant do what we do so everyone got into it and it started a littl ewar but yeah sometimes i hate the racers that come in the park and dick around and cut everyone off and stuff

"if all your friends jumped off a clif would you?" -my mom "i would if there was snow on it" -me

exactly thats all im saying he has really opened peoples eyes in america to the whole ski scene not just racing he was on the cover of multiple national magazines and newspapers and i think that will really boost the average idea of skiing within the common non skiing houshold because now they see that it really is a sport that deserves respect and i think that if the majority of other freeride skiers that are too stuck up to relize that are just hurting the sport with their bad attitudes

bode is definetly doing good things for skiing, and if anyone follows him they know he is not the typical "racer"

a skeir as good a bode should be respected.

"Holy shit, did you see that tweaked out pencil! That was insane, that guy really knows how to rip."

I'm in the middle of doing an interesting survey in southern california, a place where no one skis.

The initial results are as I expected, more random people off the street in LA know who Tanner Hall is, or have heard of Tanner hall, where as next to no one knows who Bode Miller is or has ever heard of him at all.

That fact further complicates things for people when I ask them if they know who any of their sponsors are. There is a number of people who can name at least one of Tanners sponsors. Next to no one in the already small percentage of people that even knew who bode was could name at least one of his sponsors.

Regardless of how monumental bodes accomplishments were this year he has hardly opening the eyes of the USA to racing or skiing.

Tanner is in the lead.
