Bode the choker...

clearly people don't like criticism of their own nation, or people. i think, that if two peopla, are going to be classed as the best skiers in the world at the moment, and they both fuck up on numerous occasions, and get nowhere near what they were expected to achieve, there is reason for criticism. for example, you could argue that david beckham is shit. he's a fuck of a lot better than me, but he is no where near as good as his hype. can you honestly say that you are happy with the performances of Bode and D? i doubt it.
 
The performances of Bode and Daron are definately not what people who have no idea about ski racing expected. Ski racing is not like other sports where if you're the best you do good all the time. There are so many variables in ski racing that one mistake will put you only 3 tenths of a second behind the winner. But 3 tenths is the difference between winning and 5th place. The competition is way too tight to expect to win every single race. If you followed World Cup skiing at all you would notice that it's very hard to be a consistent winner.
 
Aamodt has three olympic golds in super G. four olympic gold in total. and 20 world cup medals. thats pretty consistant. Kostlic has four golds. she retained her title too. meier was there too, despite motorbike crash and other things. therefore "the best" should and can perform on a regular basis. dont presume i know nothing because i started the thread in a vague manner, or because i dont like Bode. i like D though.
 
if he crashed or something thats to bad, but thats not him choking. for these guys it's first or last. they go balls to the wall trying to get 1st. 2nd and 3rd arn't good enough. if they fall that means they were charging it.
 
It's not underperforming, stop trying to live your goals through Bode. He has said numerous times that last year he completed his goals by being dominant on the world cup and winning the Overall title.

"Last year I set myself the goal of winning the World Cup and lining up a long series of wins. It was my private challenge. This year I just want to enjoy myself. I could give up tomorrow without having the slightest regret."

Bode's has proved himself, he doesn't need other people to set his goal for him, let him do what he wants. Racers DNF races all the time, even the best of them, stop believing all this superhuman hype, he is human. You can'tt expect him to win just because he is Bode Miller.
 
I hate racing to, I did it from 3rd til 7th grade. I hate it more than anything. you can't just come out and say he sucks cock. I don't like him either but you try doin what hes done. you won't even get close.

bode and darren never said "yo we are gonna go out and claim gold silver gold silver and get all the medals, therefore they did not underperform

bode didnt choke, but he definatly sucked in downhill, the first race he was in last sunday. yeah, hes said lots of times that he doesnt necessarily race to win, but in that race he wasnt even trying. anyone knows that the last section of the couse youre supposed to just push push push through it, and he just kind of cruised. that is not by any means an olympic performance. you can tell he got bitched out, because in the combined event the next day (2days later?) he had very obviously improved. and he probably would have won it, but then he missed a gate, but that shit happens, like him and everyone else said. and ted ligity came through, so it was all good for the us.

and that one girl in the boardcross fucked up biiig time.
 
god damn you ignorant fucks. anyone who knows anything about ski racing knows that the olympics dont matter worth shit. the olympics arent a test of who is great, laying one run down can win you gold. that doesnt show greatness. the world cup overall and discipline titles do. the olympics are a joke, they dont even show who is the best in the world. each nation gets 3 spots. in a world cup race austria can have 6 guys in the top 10 of a downhill and all of them are capable of winning. but only three of those can race in the olympics. fuck the olympics.

They made it to the OLYMPICS! in my book thats awesome. and for god sakes lay off Bode. he is in all 5 alpine race events and without a doubt one of the best All Around skiers in the world. but he hasnt won a gold yet so NBC is talking shit. Its just the fucked up american comentators that have never even tried racing.

if anyone watched Bode's recovery in the Super G you would know that he it an amazing skier. if his tip or tail had caught he would have most likley distroyed his hip and knee. but instead he rode out of it! One of the best saves i've ever seen and yet all the media can do is bash him for crashing
