no, actually I'm not sure. That was only my perception of reality. I know the X is huge too, but I think the demographic is limited to mainly the youth, where everyone watches and loves the olympics.

a very specific question has, over the course of this forum been genearlized into an ever prevelant argument of which is better, freeskiing or racing. you could never compare these two, both are very good at what they do. you would have to take a much broarder pool of athletes and come up with a better question than "which is better". this thread is stupid

^ you got it man. but racing is not progressive, and freeskiing is porbably the most progressive port in the world so in the future, so, for the future i dont see racers gettin any better, so maybe it will be clear on which person is better at what they do. (Whoevers on top of racing and whoevers on top of freeskiing)

So many people diss racers, but i ahve madd respect for what bode does, he sooo sick. But i have the same respect for tanner , their the top in their style of skiing

id say tanners better, ive noticed that bode like falls all of the time in his races and when hes lucky enough to not fall he does really good and usually wins, while tanner hardly ever falls and still wins in what he does all the time. plus hes better all around since hes really good at moguls too that shows that he can do more than just park.

but if i had to choose the all around best skier id be seth morrison cause he goes like almost as fast as racers do but hes in powder and there on ice and they dodge gates but he dodges rocks and goes off cliffs and shit

i will say they are equal, but at different sports. on the side of racing being progressive, their courses have to be on a standard, while your average slopestyle course is anything but standard. racing technique does not seem to change much, and the only way as i see it to progress in racing is go faster. in freeskiing, there are no limits.

of course you do, this is NEWSCHOOLERS afterall. bode is dominating the american racing scene, while tanner is dominating the entire newschool scene. bode is more recognizable and makes more bank, but tanner is overall more dominant in his field. you really can't compare the two since they are in such different fields. like what was previously stated, thats like comparing bmx to road biking. ryan nyquist to lance armstrong. ok, well lance kicks ryan's ass, bad comparison. anywho, they are both at the tops of their games in either skiing arena.

bode he won the over all world cup tanner did not even win the x-games bodes season is 6 months long and he is still kicking ass at the end of the season so what racers get more money apperantly companies value racers more the freeskier(for now) so dont hate on him he is just doing his job!

racing gets paid more because behind every single business is a rich old white guy, a rich old white guy who grew up with racing being the crazy thing on skis to do, now with freeride just poppin off we dont have the old white guys who want watch it cuz those ar ethe guys who write the checks. yea its bullshit buts it how its gonn be for a while.

 
About progression, bode was the first racer to use shaped skis, using k2 four's to dominate the nor-am circuit way before he went to the world cup. He influenced the ski industry to make shaped race ski's. If that isn't progression, i don;t know what is.

Anyone who thinks Bode can't ski out the race course is sadly mistaken. As lame of a movie it is, check out last years Warren Miller flick and you'll see Bode dropping big mountain lines and hucking 50+ footers!

Dude, bode dominates, and tanner is good but Tanner can't ski big mountain hardly at all. I dunno if yearbook is a great indication at all but he has horrible skiing form and would die on something big, and people around me go bigger then he does all the time out there. And for bringing in the "steeze" THATS DESTROYING OUR SPORT. What happened to flyin high, pushin the limits, gettin upside down and havin fun and layin it out? Its completely shrunk our sport down to one mindset. Skiing with most newschoolers is no fun because a 40 ft rodeo is no longer cooler then a 20 foot steezy 3 with a safety. So in conclusion Morrison and Candide are the best.

Tanner came in 2nd at x-games this year and has gotten gold in an event at x-games for the past 3 years (not to mention all the other comps he's either won or placed in ever since he started skiing). Bode's a straight up douche bag.

Who ever said that Bode won on non shaped ski's when he was skiing on the k2 four's is on crack. When i was a J3 the k2 four's where some of the hottest new school race ski's, hence meaning shaped. they where my first cut ski's, that's coming off the volkl p10's, this was about the same time that most of you were about 5 years old.
