Bobby's vid is rated way too low!!!

How could it not be a straight 10. Haters shouldn't be allowed to rate vids at 1 and take away everyone else's vote by doing so.
 
That's ridiculous, its a bad ass video. If 9 people think it deserves a ten and then one per gives it a one then its as if all ten people gave him a 9. Thats giving one person the voting power over nine people. I could see if a hater was allowed to vote a few points away from the average but a 1 is like not even handing in an assignment in school. It screws up your average.
 
there is in no way an unfair distribution of power, everybodies' vote counts the same amount. its just how the math works out, even if it seems unfair
 
all I'm saying is that I wouldn't think that anyone in there right mind would give the vid a 1 and I'm pretty sure that thats the only reason that it's as low as it is. Even if someone didn't like the vid. I don't see how anyone could honestly give it less than an 8. Don't get me wrong...love the sight...it just my opinion on the matter.
 
I thought it was boring & melodramatic.... I wouldn't give it a one but I'm about to head over there and give it a solid 5 or 6 just because of the bitching in this thread.

 
I don't know Bobby from Adam so do what you need to do. At least you're not one of those guys that spits out ones for quality work. Maybe my idea is somewhat like what they do in the olympics and throw out the top and bottom scores.
 
I mean 9.29 isn't that low, its just far down the list. Some people didn't like it and that goes against your opinion, get over it.
 
My plan of action is that no person should be able to vote within a few points of the average. How could anyone give a video a 1 after a bunch of people gave it a 10 if it's not because they are more interested in seeing the average change than actually being honest and giving the edit what they think it deserves. If 9 judges in an event gave a score of ten and one judge gave it a one, that judge would be laughed at and never let judge again.

Maybe because theres no style/personality to the video.... Have you ever heard the saying or something along the lines of "our Shortcomings to perfection are what make us Unique?" I'm watching a robot ski and do perfect tricks, with nothing unique or stylish about it. Nothing cool on the rails, just the same sideways grinds and spins/switchups done since '04. I never rated the video, just watched it, and it was the same as watching most competitions. Its boring as fuck because you know everything is a perfect double with hardly any flavor. It's funny to say, but the flaw to this video is Bobby Browns textbook perfection.
 
On a side note, If i saw someone do the same tricks over natural features (not a cheesewedge perfectly shaped jump in the backcountry) I would be inclined to worship that perfection rather than see the flaw of it being done over perfectly tamed and man-dominated features. Over natural features, its man outsting the best that nature has to offer, not man ousting man. Just getting a little deep on you all....

that vid was so sick. hate all you want on bobby but he still does some of the cleanest dubs ive ever seen

 
. Didn't rate the vid- Bobby's got some damn good air sense but his rails aren't exactly my flavor. I think NS' rating system is fine - everyone has a chance to say what they want. I thought the edit was incredible from a jump sense and so-so from a rail sense, therefore I did not rate it. I would like to see a bit more dialogue, or at least a sense of personality going forward.

For all those that are pissed off, I don't rate videos a 1, regardless of the quality I always give it a 5+ or I don't rate. There is absolutely no reason to drive someone into the ground, they put out an edit and want feedback - I'm not about to be a ratings dickhead. If I like it, It'll score well, if I don't, I just wont rate it.

Eheath's videos are top rated because almost everyone has sick skiing, videography, and editng. i have yet to see an edit i havent liked. i dont understand why people get butt hurt over his edits just becuase they dont like him.
 
i rated it a 7 because of how much worse he is at rails, for being so unreal on jumps not a favorable ratio IMO, an example of a video that gets a 10 from me is dane's trip vid or leigh's pbp season gotta keep things well rounded and most importantly style not robotricks
 
I think the thumbs up-thumbs down idea is awesome. To have one dislike is just fine, but to give a vid a one destroys the average. It makes much more sense. Even a 1-5 scale would work better when your talking about averages.
 
so... You have to be the same guy. There is no way these arguments just keep organically popping up about eheath and the video rating system.

And you STILL havent learned that a 1-5, 5-10, 3457348957-348957398457839 scale would yield the exact same results. Please stop, this is getting beyond ridiculous

 
There is nothing organic about it and I am but one guy...also a 1 has a lot bigger effect on a ten than it has on a 5. Its simple math. If you want it to stop then don't reply and I'm done.
