Us being "whiny morons" was a result of him voicing his opinion, so your point doesnt make sense or carry much weight. If A=B and B=C then A=C
Maybe if you had a little more to say than "whiny" in every post, and had an actual and logical point that makes sense, id care a little more about your opinion.

because you are blowing things more out of proportion than anyone i have ever seen. its not like he demanded that NS put him on the team, or hed eliminate team NS or something. all he did was say hey, he killed it, you guys should send him. just like every other skier that entered has had a hype thread. so what if it was created by Jon, hes on ns all the time too.

Just because he said it didnt mean that people had to freak out like they did, and make multiple threads saying dont vote for him, just because Jon said you should. which isnt fair to bobby. and thats not Jons fault in the slightest, thats you guys fault for overreacting
 
I agree - but I also think that if BB had been voted at the top - he still would of pulled out.... because he clearly realised what this opportunity was really for and the dude is a super humble guy. I might be wrong though...

All this (and i include all these threads and coverage etc) has occurred because of the hype surrounding his X performance.... before that, he was still in the same position as most of the entrants to the Team NS JOSS comp.... but what he did that weekend was truly exceptional, and nobody could of predicted it. What i'm saying is, NS has the chance to give those athletes a chance to see what bobby did at X and go and do it for themselves at JOSS....

this is how Freeskiing progresses... and why the progession made in freesking has been so exponential in recent years.

Any 3 of currently top rated 10 are deserving to go. No matter which 3 go, someone is going to be unhappy and likely voice their unhappiness.

If you are so stoked on Bobby B then freakin respect what he wrote Jon and support some one else.
 
it has nothing to do with me being stoked on bobby b. i think he deserved to go, but i rated a couple others higher than his because i liked them better, however i think Bobby had a damn good shot as well.

in fact my point is am incredibly unstoked on the general attitude of NS towards this. you kids dont realize the power you have, and the fact that all because you didnt like what Jon had to say, you screwed over Bobby.

He's a gearhead for Backcountry.com So he is not self-titled, Backcountry made him a gearhead, and that is the job description. 123ski has always been super chill and helpful in the past. He's given me backcountry codes which have saved me 20% off on Armada ARVs. Stop being a immature douchebag.

Bobby B deserved to go if he got voted in. I did not vote him the highest though, I thought the edit was lacking urban and lacked style that I really liked. Thus I rated it an 8. People also have to stop saying that he has no style like it's a fact. Style is an opinion. I'm sure many people think that Bobby Brown's style is ill, and I respect that.

Anyone saying that he doesn't deserve to go is an idiot, like I said before, if he had gotten voted in, he deserved to go.

And stop bitching about Jon spreading the stoke. What's wrong with a pro spreading stoke on someone? Other pros were talking about how great other guys were sick, and no one complained. Just because Jon is running the event, doesn't mean he can't be stoked on someone.

You guys should NOT be hating on Jon. He's doing a great thing holding this contest, and he's giving kids a GREAT opportunity.

So instead of bitching, why didn't you just vote his video what you think it deserved. If you think that LJ was more qualified, then why didn't you just rate LJ a 10 and Bobby Brown an 8? There's no need to bitch so much that he drops out.

like people have said it's Jon's competition, and he believed Bobby should go, but he already had all 7 teams made. the fact that immature assholes on this site purposely threw the competition to spite Jon is ridiculous. Bobby was a shoe in to get on the team, and screwing him over in this way is not a good thing for the ski community to do. major props for how humble he is, hopefully we see him in JOSS next year

I think these points are a very good and that they are being over looked and worthy of repeating.

Also something to think about is picking 3 people who are going to work really well together. Also, you should consider or at least not forget that those selected and who they will want as their filmer(s) - Buried somewhere is that the filmer(s) for the NS team will need to find their own way there. that is another aspect worth swaying your vote one way or another. My biased opinion is to send Skodeo and have him pick the team. so there!

BTW I should add and make very clear that NS mods have zero influence on the final outcome of this contest. The above post is my opinion.
 
You're fucking retarded. Your "research" isn't spot on at all. Josh reviews so much stuff on backcountry.com... and gearhead is the title of his job.
 
I think bobby is missing out on a huge opportunity, LJ, Matt Walker and Corey are all equally as well known as bobby brown, and they are still in it, yeah bobby won two x games events but that doesnt mean he cant be on team ns, I think jon's suggesting we vote for him was a good one becasue he brings new things to the table, its not like anyone else is going to do switch double misty variations at joss. Bobby pulling out i think is a mistake, nobody would be rubbed the wrong way if he got on team ns at all, so i cant figure out why he dropped out?
 
like hes had just as many opportunities as anyone else in the top 5, actually less if you count the past 5 years. hes just made the best of the opportunities and totally killed it, that doesn't mean he has to stop killing it.
 
Most does not mean "most of the people on NS" it means "Most of the people who don't want Bobby B on Team NS".

Learn to look at different angles of an argument rather than the one that makes you look like the biggest douche.
 
After Bobbys performance at the X Games and Dew Tour, there is NO WAY that Jon was in the wrong for the comments he made. He showed the skiing world tricks that noone has seen before, there are probably only a handfull of guys that can truly say they have done something like this to such a large extent. Bobby and Jon, you both have my respect.

Your saying Bobby will not be competing in JOSS but can still come hit the features? Is that just up to him whether he wants to go hit those for the two weeks with the other competitors? And will you be posting his footage on your blog so we can see him throw down.

As far as his message goes, he was informing the public of an altercation in the voting status of a competitor, how is that a bad thing to do?
Lastly...why is anyone on the US team ahead of Bobby Brown? How many times does he have to prove himself? Maybe if he did double front flips everything he would be Target's favorite skier...Then American pop culture would have a reason to align themselves with him and think he's the only pro skier alive...hell, we can even name him The Brown.

And now that I've read some threads on JOSS this year, holy shit, some people are even more retarded than I thought prior to today.

Jon, it's your comp and wouldn't exist if it wasn't for you, do MORE of what YOU want, and it will still be(probably more so than letting NS retards change anything) an epic comp. Oh and your edits are some of the most thrilling!
 
K, has anyone else stopped and thought "Why are we actually arguing about this?" honnestly, we ski to have fun and be happy, just standard NSers as well as pro's. all jon did was say, "hey guys, im hosting a comp, im inviting these skiers because i think it would be fun if they came. oh and also, according to what i saw at the x games, it would be fun if bobby brown could be on team NS" all we had to do, was go to the contest page, and vote for whoever we thought should be on team NS. Sounds pretty simple to me. i dont understand why there has to be so much hate and shit when we're all here for the same basic reason: to have a good time doing what we love. Ben.'s posts seem to make sense to me. so ya, im not trying to sound like fuckin barney or anything, but we need to stop bitching and arguing about everything.
