Bobby Brown on Team respect!

I just wanted to let you know that Bobby will be pulling himself out of the JOSS Team NS contest.
I got an e mail from Bobby yesterday saying that he had been thinking about it for a while and he feels that someone that "has had less opportunities then him" deserves the team NS spots.
I can't say anything else then the fact that Bobby is a truly humble superstar!
I hope that voting goes well and that the 3 guys that NS thinks are the best will head to Sweden for JOSS.
I am also sorry for posting my thoughts about certain skiers as I in this case am the organizer, but as I visit NS 4 times a day I am also a very active NS member and entitled to share my opinions... However after these debates I will make sure to stay out of all "JOSS qualification" related threads on NS to keep it 100% fair.
But honestly who would not have wanted to see Bobby Brown on huge slushy kickers for two weeks, can you blame me for being stoked on that?
Hopefully we will see him at JOI!

Lots of respect to Bobby for being so humble. Hopefully this will end all the rediculous hate on Jon and Bobby B.
 
This is just the first step in Bobby's plan for world domination... don't let him get into your heads!!!!!!!!!1

But for real... that's sick, i'm pretty dissapointed he won't be competing at JOSS, but team NS will still kill it for sure.

that's a great thing to do. I'm glad he can go anyways, because I would for sure like to see what he can do in that environment.
 
well then can we please send lolo instead of Vanular who honestly doesn't posses the jump skills he once did.
 
Correct me if Im wrong, but I dont think there's any hate towards Bobby, Jon stated in a controversial thread (for no reasons IMO) that Bobby would have a spot no matter what, team NS or not, that's the only reason why people didn't want to vote for him, to give the chance to someone else.

Seems like it isn't that easy though ...
 
Did you read the threads? Alot of people were saying he wasn't JOSS material, while others were going to self-inflict wounds upon themselves if he didn't get in. I think this is a decent idea, but i would have loved to see him in the competition.
 
Just to clarify- Bobby would be able to come ski outside of the contest during JOSS no matter what, but he would not have a spot to compete in JOSS unless he got voted in...

Wow guys way to go...now Bobby has to pull out of the running just to make you happy. Pick the best guys, he works hard and earns it.
 
ha! no reason to apologize! Are you kidding? Your event has to be the most outstanding and unique event of the season and if it weren't for you we would not have it. IMO Its your show and you can, and should do anything you want, including posting your influential thoughts/suggestions. I think people forget how fortunate this site is to have you post at all. Forget about the isolated negative comments. Especially those from those who have no clue with all that you must have to deal with in an event of this size.

Bobby is the man and i don't see why everyone had such a big issue with him being on team NS, he would have made the video sooo sick! and he deserves it more than anyone

im bummed he won't be on team NS

JOSS is an amazing event, no need to apologise it's such a great event that you can do whatever you want. haha
 
too much hate on bobby. everyone knows he has the most technical tricks out there. i don't know if e-hate had anything to do with his decision to drop out of the running, but even so, people shouldn't go after him like that. he was definitely in my top 5 for team NS.
 
People should know better than to take anything the randos on this site say at all seriously. Myself included.

 
Dear Jon,

i noticed Simon Dumont is on the usa team with tom wallisch, and ive just had an amazing idea: REMOVE SIMON DUMONT and replace him with bobby brown!!!!!!!

Honestly Simon isn't nearly as good trick wise nor does he compare in terms of style to any of the other competitors. He's a has-been wash up in my eyes and in the eyes of much of the skiing community. On the other hand, bobby brown is quickly becoming a superstar and would contribute much to the competition.

Really stoked on Bobby deciding to give his spot, which he obviously would've won no denying that, to a less known skier. I hope Jon's promise of some hit on the JOSS features holds up, regardless of whether Bobby is in a teams contest entry or not I still want to see him throw down on the perfect jumps we all know Jon can build. Also, don't feel like you need to apologize for anything Jon. Kids on this site will bitch and moan all day, but when it comes down to it you're a member of NS as well and equally entitled to voice your opinion as the rest of these kids posting "Send ___ to JOSS" threads. No hate Jon, keep doing what you do for the progression of the sport.

Plagiarized and edited.. here is my opinion on what is happening here.....

NS is a pretty wacky phenomenon in the world of sports. Most

sports exist in a top-down media structure, where the traditional,

popular media TELL you what is cool. You see videos and magazines, and

all of your opinions are based on what happens there.

Few sports have something like NS, which gives the common person

just as strong a voice as the top level media sources. NS and its

community have become one of these media sources, but NS is different

because we are bound to the opinion of our members.

Love it or hate it, NS has given the general person a voice, and

this has allowed our amateur scene to flourish. As someone mentioned,

if it was up to traditional media, we probably wouldn't have heard of

T Wall, Cosco, Walker, LJ, Brogan SeanyJ
 
Wow! I must say that I really respect Bobby for doing that... It's almost a little too nice, haha! Bobby is deff. someone who should be at the biggest event there is. I'd rather like to see someone like that guy who wears red and white (you know who) give his spot to Bobby. Hahaha...

Anyway - again a lot of respect to Bobby, and also to Jon for giving him mad creds when he deserves it!
 
wow that was exact;y what i was going to say. Its a shame that we arnt going to see BB rip up all of those perfect kickers but hell still be at JOI.

That was my whole point. As someone who generates revenues from such an event it just seemed odd, and as you put it not 100% fair. A level playing field was all I was looking for.

Deserves a place in the comp but as with others I don't think he would have fitted team NS.

That said he should have been on Team America instead of Simon. I actually like Simon and his style, I love to see footage of him but he doesn't have the Big Air Results to justify his place
 
man, this shit got out of hand. in the future, we should let Jon invite whoever the fuck he wants, cus its his comp, and then we should proceed to vote for whoever we want to represent team NS and not vote for the others, and thats it. Like honnestly, let's say you werent a big fan of Jon posting Bobby's video and him making the thread and whatnot, then dont vote for bobby, vote for someone else, and shut up. people need to learn to not sweat the small stuff and just do what they think is right.
