Hey I went to a ski academy.. it was super cool.. but alot of work. At that time i was heavy into Racing. I went to Burke Mountain Academy and Stratton Mountain School.

it was super cool.. Burke was very stirct but i found ways to do what i wanted. It depends of where you go to school also..

i have to go to boreding school if my parents catch me smoking weed

get off your computer..... go ski

rehab is for quiters

hehe wow the question was for me

i started out the year at a boarding school but went back to my private school at home.. for a bunch of reasons

more skiing at home

freedom at home, no freedom at boarding school

more skiing

the guys in the dorm..umm..suffer from not seeing girls... well it was co-ed but..well you know what i mean

more skiing

sometimes being with ur parents is fun

you can get a job-make money at home

more people to meet at home (girls!)

more skiing

so yea boarding school sucked..unless it was a skiing boarding school, i wouldnt go

I dont think he means ski academy. I think he means just a private school, like those ski acedemies but without the skiing. I dont think theyd send him to a ski academy, man if I could piss off my peeps and get into a ski academy I would. Its college time tho so I get to choose somewhat anyway. Anyone know if metro denver or U of Denver are any good? I cant really afford boulder or shit like that.

private school is not that bad..my friend just got kicked out of my school and his mom is sending him to kents hill in maine...anyone go there...I guess its all racers but thats the only ski one his mom would send him to

Why do you guys say, 'I have to take a shit' when you just leave it there?' JF learning english

im at a boarding school but i have the same situation as DCman, i just go during the day. The work is a bitch man. I have Saturday classes alot of the time. However, the breaks are generally longer than public school. We DO NOT get snow days. As you can see boarding schools suck...untill you realize you need LIFE skills, then your happy you did it, and got into the college of your choice. My take.

haha, burke mountain academy, we always got into fights w/ them at burke

i go to a prep school in massachusetts and its really not that bad. it was my choice to go here. i hated being stuck in shitty connecticut

my room is dope, me and my roomate are tight, im into skiing, he's into snowboarding and skateboarding, so we have tons of respect for our sports. we've got a couch recliner dope computer in our room poker table, its jammin.

most good new england prep schools (not ski academys, i dunno about them, but real prep schools) have half day saturday classes, and half day wednesday classes. these are game days since u havta go to other schools sometimes that are sorta far away.

i dont know anyone here who was forced to come here. the work load is hard, but the life skills are so important.

since ive been here ive definatly learned a lot about myself, ive been put in situations i wouldnt have been in at home, the girls are relaly really hot, etc.

i get my own platinum credit card and atm card being here since my parents aren't around, we have 3 weeks off for xmas, 3 weeks off for spring break, 10 days off for thanksgiving, (aka longer breaks then public highschools).

i really like it here. we have ski trips every weekend to VT. its dope

northfield-mount hermon in MA looks amazing!!! my cousin goes to cushing academy so i went to watch a soccer game between the two schools. the campus is beautiful. a lot of rich kids. deerfield academy (in MA as well) might not be too bad. they have their own ski area across the street! for a ski academy, any place in vermont will make you a skier. okemo mountain school has put out a lot of good racers and their freestyle team kicks ass! My top choice has always been Gould, where DCman goes.

metro of denver is a waste. the university of denver looks cool. i know what you mean about CU boulder. it's pretty costly. check out the university of british columbia - it looks like a great school and costs less! plus...2hrs away from whistler....who would go elsewhere?!? if you're looking for inexpensive colorado colleges though, try colorado mountain college. it's two years but they offer a lot of programs that do with skiing.

I went to cushing. Had a lot of fun. The rules are not that strict. Well I didn't think they were. If you want to party and fuck off you can and still do work at the same time. The trick about cushing is that you cannot get caught doing stupid shit or they'll through the book at you. I was asked to leave at the end of my junior year. We didn't seee eye to eye on a lot of issues. Private school is good way to find out who you really are and evaluate your life and try to gain some focus on what you like and love to do. Happy hunting.

i went to Oak Hill Academy...it was a fuckin ton of fun...they had the number one basketball team in the nation and shit...all the players where cool as shit...Jerry Stackhouse, William Avery...but i loved it...first place i ever did acid or ate shrooms...and we smoked bud like it wasnt no thang either...so i say that you just gave to make the best out of a bad situation...and it was co-ed too...that always helps...

you know that i saw this man sitting on the corner and then i turned and hit by a truck a possum was when the racoon said to me the zebra and elephant where hitting the bong while the cow and deer where doing blow but then it occured to me that drew was gone

I go to boarding/day private school and i would never ever board at my school... I don;t think I could stand being told when I have to study and how I have to.. No ICQ/AIM/MSN or music and ur door has to be kepted open...And your only allowed of campus during certian hrs and shit.. My brother went to another private boarding school with the 1/2 day wednsdays and Saturdays and he really didn't mind.

As for who ever brought up UBC... Its a tough school to get in to. Lasy I knew it was one of the harder schools in Canada. And depending on what you want to do many degree's aren't the same in Canada and the States. The price for out of province students is also high. I wanted to apply there but its a really conservative school. Youd be better off lookin at some of the colleges further north. University of Alberta is also close to mountains.. (complete blank as to which). Alberta also has a shit load of good schools. Just thought I would let you know.

most schools aren't that strict. i can do whatever i want with my computer, etc.

as someone said though don't get caught doing dumb shit cuase it would suck to get thrown out of school that costs 28,000 for something dumb. all that money going to waste.

I was a day student at a boarding school for 3 years. Most of the guys didn't mind it aye, except that they didn't get to go home much, bit I was 10,11,12 years old when I was there so being a heap younger made a huge difference aye.

tom

dude i live like 30 minutes away from oakhill now...so yo if you go holla...the ski mountains are really close to you...well farther from you than me...but Oak Hill was the shit...ere one is really cool...there are some bad ones...but fuck them...there are fugly chicks too...but there are also super hott ones...i would say go there...

you know that i saw this man sitting on the corner and then i turned and hit by a truck a possum was when the racoon said to me the zebra and elephant where hitting the bong while the cow and deer where doing blow but then it occured to me that drew was gone

to get into these schools you need to (or usually need to) have good grades, you have to visit the school, take an interview there, write applications (which includes essys and shit) for the schools your applying to, etc so i guess if you really did not want to go, then do a bad job on your interview and write a crappy essay for your application...

im applying (for next year) to St. Marks, Gould Academy, Holderness Academy, Western Reserve Academy, Avon Old Farms, and Concord Academy.

Like Gene said, boarding is not that bad, but restrictions varie from school to school and most boarding schools have some type of skiing program.
