BOA Boots - Any and All Questions

Why don't they also use BOA for the top buckle?

Also are their any competitor brands of BOA like tech or are they a monopoly in ski boots right now?

Upper boas are coming. Already being tested.

Yeah upper boa is not far off :)

as for other brands there is no reason a brand could not design their own system but with using boa you don’t need to worry about development costs or dealing with warranty. The beauty of boa is all parts come from them so as a brand I don’t need to worry about keeping spare parts which is easier for both the brand but also retailers and consumers as they just deal with boa directly rather then each individual brand.

Pretty soon you'll be able to have four or five boas on each boot. You'll have one for the liner and then one to replace each buckle on a traditional four buckle boot. Invest in Boa stock now because they were just able to get a new patent on what is fundamentally the same tech as they have been using for 15 years. The patent system in the US is profoundly broken in favour of megacorporations and stifling entrepreneurship.

Yeah it's stuff like this that makes me wonder if there's just BOA plants in all the boot companies shilling the tech. Like if its been around so long why is it only now that boot manufacturers have taken notice of them?

Boa never had a solution for alpine ski boots before and non of the existing solutions would close an alpine ski boot so there was no option to use it before. No conspiracy sorry

Are there plans to make super strong LV boa boots for inbounds like 130/140 flex with really low insteps.

I'm on my last pair of Smax 130s and the only other boot I found that fit the same way (tight enough over the instep) for me is the new hawx 130 with BOA. Just scared of riding that inbounds a lot since it's got a walk mode on it.

Check out the boots Max Hitzig is using in the FWT

The Atomic walk mode on the hawx seems pretty beefy. I’m skiing the old ultra hawx xtd and it feels pretty solid. Just the plastic on the lugs gets chewed up fairly quick but that’s been changed for the new one I think.

There is also a new bolt on rigid replacement that you can swap the walk mode lever for. I think it’s called Gnar bar? Name’s a bit cringe though and I haven’t tried it.

Anyone wanting to get in on the boa action now is the time.

Corbetts has all their boa boots on deep discount. This is where I got my recon 130 boas onsale. Great prices.

I can't tell its all black, is it a whole new lower vol shell design?

Yes this is our newest BOA boot and its an LV boot. Max will be in a new pair for the next round with a few interesting updates so keep an eye on his feet.

i didn't see this any of the tradeshow 2025 pics... so is it for 2026?

Finally found some decent boa damage. Evidently a snow boarder caught an edge and nailed this dude. Ripped off the whole boa dial system completely. Nothing “broke” and warranty parts are otw.
