Hey NS, i really want to get into BMXing but i dont really know where to start. Does anyone know of any cheap bikes that would be good for someone like me? I know its a skiing website bu i figured there may be some bmxers on here.

Thanks

look around on like danscomp.com and such. if youre just getting into it, buy a complete, dont piece one together cuz that shit gets EXPENSIVE! Fit makes some badass completes, and if you can find one of last years, they are relatively cheap

you could check ebay, I got a frame on there for $1 (its a crappy GT frame, but does the job). Then I ordered a basic build kit from www.danscomp.com (they also sell complete bikes and other equipment for decent prices, they have fast shipping, and my customer service experiences have always been good with them. definitely worth checking out.) For good bikes, FBM, Integral, Eastern, Fit and S&M are all legit brands, but there are many more.

if you got the money, i love that bike. its a fit flow park, $680

you can get a pro park for like 380, its basically just a downgrade, but good for beginners

and if you feel the need to drop top dollar, this frame is the baddest ass frame ever. 370 for the frame. only weighs 4 pounds, which is light

the fits are the nicest looking completes, but nothing beats a custom built bike. of course if you have no idea what you want, then just go with the fit complete.

DK six pack

$320 complete bike, good thing to start with

my bmx bike is beefy, 22" frame, 24" wheels, marzochi bombers on the front...

nah dont get a dk there heavy get a Fit, they're good priced i ride a S&M and i love it theyre so light and basically bulletproof i would get a S&M if i were you

thats not a bmx bike. maybe a bmx frame but if you got 24's and suspension its not. sounds like sick bike for dirt jumping though

I've had an S&M dirtbike, stricker, a Fly Spanish Fly, and now I have a Fly mosca, and I have to say, best frames i've ever ridden are made by Fly, though the stricker was fucking sick as well

if you know a bit about bikes you can check out craigs list. I got my bmx on there for $100.. good deal? bad deal?

anyhow..you can find some good deals on there

well it's a specialized P Street, they no longer make it, but it's pimp, and has special marzochhi bomber "streets"

well my friend happens to have a pretty new bmx bike that he doesnt use anymore so he is gonna give it to me for free. i guess i can put up a few pics and what what....

Please don't listen to anyone who says haro, dk, trek etc

Nothing will beat a custom built bmx, but if your just starting you don't need that and its super expensive. Your going to want a complete.

Check out some of the following sites

Look at some of the following companies completes on danscomp.com

Fit

Subrosa

Kink

Eastern

As someone who spends a lot of time riding bmx over the last few years and even more time on bmx forums and whatnot you can trust me. Read up about bmx bikes before you buy.

Give me a price range and I can give you some good options.

Feel free to ask me any questions, good luck

sorry for the bump... my bmx was stolen on my birthday boxing day.. the u-lock was cut right off!! sucks. I want to save up for a new frame now.

saying marzocchi bomber is like saying rossignol twintip.

and thats not really a bmx, its just a mtb set up for urban.

How about you just stay the fuck home and fondle yourself. No one wants another kid who sucks at riding bikes to crowd up the dirt jumps or suck up all the air that decent people breathe.

BTW I didn't think your Chinese thread was very funny. hah.

sounds like he knows what hes talking about. legit post man. i heard fit is a real good bike, im into MTB DJ so i really dont know about bmx

An even better idea is to go to a store that specializes in bmx closest to you. The people there are usually experienced and at most shops Ive gone to they will let you try out the bikes. Just find a complete that you like. Once you get better you can just update that complete and eventually build up to a sick bike.
