Who here rides bmx, what bike do you have and how do you like it? it just started getting into dirt jumps and some flatland and im torn on what bike to get...

LIST PRICES TOO! i wanna get an idea of bmx bike prices, i have never looked at the prices on those before.

just build a bike and buy parts off ebay, and if you dish out about $400-500 you could get a bike that would be pretty much indestructable.

 
im looking at the DK Eight Pack which is a sweet bike but it doesnt have a front brake cause its for dirt jumping mostly and im doing some flatland so the front brake might come in handy...hmmmmmm ...... oh yeah the Eight Pack is only $230, which is a good price for that bike

so put a front brake on, you can do it all for under 30 dollars prolly. you wouldjust need to buy the 990 mounts, the brakes themselves, levers cables blah blah. it isnt that hard to put brakes on a bike. invest in some good 3 peice cranks tho, cuz those are definately worth it, like the demolitions thyat nate wessel designed. you will always be cracking headsets and blowng bearingsd everywhere, that is to be expected. dont just expect to buy a bike and be set, things WILL break

yeah im pretty sure im guna go with the eight pack then just buy some brakes and add them, but yeah thats for the help

OK listen, if you're planning on riding flatland, do not get the DK eight pack. That's a good beginner bike for dirt and street. Also don't start riding flatland without brakes, it's hard enough to do it with brakes let alone without them. A great thing about flatland is that you can get a pretty inexpensive and it'll work fine. OK but as for what kind of bike, you would probably do fine with a Hoffman EP. You can get last years model at most BMX shops, and they can order it from the Hoffman Factory. It's hard to get a bike thats good for flatland and dirt, cuase they are such different types of riding. My suggestion is the Poverty Buck 99. For 199.99 you can get a nice bike with a 3 pc, and some nice parts, the only thing is that youll have to buy 2 sets of pegs, and front brakes. Uh yeah thats all.

All the guys I shoot who ride BMX bikes and arent sponsored build their bikes part by part. If you are into BMX go check out the magazine DIG BMX, its from england but you can get subscriptions over here. Ski magazines only wish they could be half as cool as that magazine.

get oddyssey breaks and get demolition pegs. or fly bikes pegs

As for the brakes and pegs, you really can go with any peg that is big enough to stand on. Brakes, just go wtih any 990 brake. go to www.danscomp.com and check it out.

my friends get alot of shit from www.danscomp.com , DKs bike are pretty good for dirt but i dont think they ride very well with flatland
