browsing around the cool hunter and spotted this. And lord help me if the video doesnt imbedd

BMW presents GINA, a new take on car design, materials, and flexibility. The GINA

replaces the traditional metal/plastic skin with a textile fabric skin

that’s pulled taut around a frame of metal and carbon fiber wires. Even

the shape of the car can change. Fascinating and creative design study.

seems cool but not durable but i bet it wouldn't cost as much to fix. I bet its just as safe because the inside is somewhat normal

modern cars are designed to crumple in certain places upon impact along the frame right? that is definately doable then because you only need to make certain spots more durable and you have a safe car. i loved how the headlights open like eyes, fucking sickter

The chassis (or the frame under the bodywork if you don't wanna be technical) is what really saves you ass in a crash. The bodywork doesn't do much.

Crazy possibilities with that. All kinds of wings sticking out when cornering and then they shrink back in on straights, auxiliary vents opening out of nowhere, all kinds of potential with that.
