BMBW Predictions

This isn't necessarily BMBW related, but this thread is usually pretty helpful so I figured I'd post it here. I'm planning a ski trip to either Peek n Peak or Holiday Valley on the 4th; which do you guys think would be the better choice? Of course Holiday Valley is much larger, but I doubt they'll have all their trails open when I go. Any advice?

I would make that decision the night before you go because they are supposed to get lake effect and will be making snow. Holiday valley snow makers are better than pknpk but they have more terrain per trail.

Josh Boyd told the news that mills is predicted to be saturday and branywine on sunday. season finally starting

Even with el Nino the season will start like it did last year. I'm so excited!

Damn. I fly back from co Sunday and I'm so sore I won't be skiing for a few days haha

the news just said bmbw isnt opening this weekend. Josh boyd flopped once again.

I just don't understand. With snowmaking last night and low temps tonight why can't the open at least one thing and make snow Saturday and open more on Sunday/mid week.

People on instagram are going crazy

It was worse last year. Snow trails was open and people were outraged. I'm driving to snow trails tomorrow unless bmbw pulls off a miracle.

tbh I am kind of mad that snow trails and mad river are open/opening

They have the weather and we don't. It is that simple. I'm going and I am going to have a great time.

Damn, we always get the worst weather at bmbw. I've been out of the loop, how close is bmbw to opening? I want to ski in a few days after I recover from this trip

They will be open sometime this week the question is what day. We are begging bmbw to open tomorrow since they have the snow. Elia Hamilton (peak resorts head snow cat operator) is at alpine valley rn and may go to bmbw. That makes me think they open tomorrow.

We all are. BMBW is terrible at customer interaction.

I'm so sick of every facet of bmbw. They need a new park crew, when I was at snow trails the bmbw park crew guys were talking about how they're not even going to the build because it's too early. Like for fucks sake lets get some people who can actually get up for their job in there

I heard bmbw has every portable gun they own at brandywine rn and they are all on the base and my friend told me they look like they are open right now as in lights and snow coverage.

Got the text from ski patrol and nobody is opening today. I don't know why I get my hopes up.

I expect the worst from bmbw so that I'm never let down. They always live up to my very low expectations.

similarly, I can't wait to see park crew use this short season as an excuse to put up shitty unfinished parks all season, like last year.

I know the snowmaking hasn't been as good as they thought it would but I'd say 3 nights of decent snowmaking should be enough to open something.

Any idea if they'll have any rails up? I'm probably going just since its on our pass and I'm dying to ski.

I doubt it, what I saw on Facebook said one run and one lift

They had 1 okay flat bar, a meh flat down box, and 2 stupid 5 ft long boxes. I learned how to slide a metal rail and pedal today!!! Im so excited!!!

Look at the cams. Putting snow on the right... Rails might be where they belong this year.

Oh and also we can't be hating on josh boyd this year. He is working his butt off. Yesterday the whole time he was setting up snow guns and doing intense manual labor. I feel the snow making crews are understaffed which may be a reason they aren't open.

Glad to hear he's working hard. Now if they would actually pay park crew... Most of park crew is volunteer status and they wonder why it's so bad

It's under the job application list so idk why they wouldn't get paid. I was half tempted to do it but i have no upper body strength and don't like physical labor like that. I don't mind shoveling but i feel the rails would be a pain to put in. I am glad that I didn't do it. Oh also Josh was the park crew yesterday along with 2 lift operators... He was shoveling in the rail and boxes when i got there about 30 minutes early.

yeah I'm too busy with school to do that, otherwise I'd love to. That's a bad sign. At ST I was told the park manager quit just weeks before the season was supposed to start, and that they appointed their old social media guy to run it. God help us.

My friend works rentals at bw and said park crew doesnt even start working till tomorrow so they werent even assigned to build the two opening parks.

hmm. Well I'm gonna head down and pick up my season pass I guess, if I see anything nice looking on summit I'll ski. It's so nice living 5 minutes away

At bm now, they're blowing snow and no features have been set yet. Gonna be sketchy riding tonight on sticky blown snow and last-minute features

13595364:BrewskiJr said:
Any talk on when a full opening will happen? or more runs at least?

I was there earlier to pick up my pass and it didn't look very good. I'd imagine another 5 full days of snowblowing to open all of bm

Except tiger of course, tiger was completely bare

Hey this isnt about bmbw but i went to wax my skis last night and i noticed that my topsheet has huge crack and fiberglass is exposed. Should I plug it up or just ski on it. If I can cough up the money after I build my new pc I am getting new skis asap.

I wouldn't worry about it, one of my skis has exposed fiberglass pretty much all the way down the side. The skis are 4-5 years old and I just skied a week on them in CO. Is the crack on the side or in the middle of the ski?

Its in the middle but on the tip so technically its the edge

Only problem I could imagine is slightly more moisture will seep into your ski. You could probably re-seal it. But I have tons of those on the sides of all my skis, I don't think its a huge problem

I dont feel like buying an epoxy for this minor thing so I will just super glue and clamp it with a binder clip its so small.
