BMBW Predictions

Today (11/14/2014) every other ski area around is making snow........the GM on BMBW's website said that he thinks it wont stay cold and its gonna get warm so they arent making snow. Even though every news station has the temp into the 20's every night until late next week. So.......typical BMBW mediocrity. Ive been here forever though so im used to it.
 
BMBW only cares about making money and right now think making snow will not be profitable. They have to compete with Peaknpeak and holiday valley. I dont see them making snow until after thanksgiving. Their snowmaking operation is not nearly as good as Mad River and Perfect North. most of their guns seem older and lower capacity.
 
Fuck Peak Resorts, it is obvious that Peak Resorts decided that their Ohio resorts aren't blowing snow, it's too early for those corporate whores. Meanwhile, Snow Trails has been cranking snow and Perfect North opens this friday.

This is why I poach as much as I can when I ski peak resorts, every year they show me how little they care.

Anyone else HATE how the GM Notes are only a gopro video?

Sometimes i dont want to sit and watch Josh for 5 minutes. I loved how they used to write a quick synopsis of whats going on. Makes it much easier when im checking it at work and want to see whats goin on.

Yeah and usually he says some pretty retarded shit. I really miss the written gm notes too. They were more frequent. Like when he said "we're not in the business of making snow to have it melt"

Snow Trails opened a full terrain park today. And they have all their groomers and their tubing lanes open. Bmbw's website still looks likes its September. Pathetic.
 
Drove by Sunday night and there were maybe 5-6 blotches of snow from the cannons - 90% of the hill was green though. If you go to the snow report, you can check out the SnowCams. Looks like theyre making MAD snow as all of buttermilk is covered finally (in a dusting at least).

Give it another week I would assume.

BMills is opening thursday. I don't know if I'm even going. I live 5 minutes away but the lines will be abysmal since they're opening so late, and god knows if they'll even have a single feature up.

Yeah I would hold off.. hahah its going to be a madhouse. I'm going all next week though. I've been dying to ski.
 
Bwine was fun yesterday. I don't know how I feel about these rfid scanners though, it seemed to jam up the line at times.

They scan me every time I go up. Will this kill poaching here?
 
the RFID scanners have put an end to poaching. I'm starting to get fed up with management here. North Bowl and Croyle have an UNREAL amount of snow, yet its still not open. I'm guessing its because they're not receiving enough business to make it worth their money to open the other lift. Complete bull if you ask me. Last year i buy a season pass from BMBW and I've been a pass holder for years and always bring friends who purchase day tickets. We are definitely going elsewhere from now on. BMBW is always the last to open and first to close.

I feel you brewski. Been living 5 minutes from bmbw since birth. I've come to accept my fate until I can get the fuck out of here for good. I've been so pissed off at them this season. Josh boyd is a fuck of a gm and is only in place because his father owns peak resorts. Grade A nepotism. He can't manage shit. I've also been told he's a huge douche by almost everybody I know who works there.

Anyways, they posted that they were doing a park rebuild yesterday. I want to go today but I know I'll arrive to find a closed, imcomplete park because they can't do anything in a timely manner. Wish they would tell us these things so I don't waste me time going down there.

Did anybody see that "jump" they had up for a few days? fucking pathetic.
 
completely agree man. The website is NEVER updated, the snow report is completely inaccurate. I mean, it contradicts itself. Right now it says "3 trails open" when the list of trails shows EVERYTHING open except tiger. Its stupid. Honestly, its more sad. I loved the old GM (forgot his name) who would post pics and a couple paragraphs of what was going on every couple days. You actually felt like the resort was a community and not just some chaotic mess that no one understood what was going on. They've become power and money hungry, and its blatantly obvious to their pass holders. Id keep an eye out. Something HAS TO change in the next year or two. Too bad I'll be a passholder elsewhere before i find out when.
 
Pissed once again. I've been home for nearly a month. This is usually when I get most of my skiing in since I'm out of school and 5 min from bmbw. All I wanted to do was hit some jumps before I had to leave and go back to school. Those fuckers spent the whole day pushing out some jank jump yesterday. Then they decided to make it smaller because they kept kunckling it (they build it in a flat area, derp). There's a slopestyle today and the jump won't open until the slope comp. The slope comp is usasa, I'm not paying 120$ to take 2 runs. so they'll close off the park for 4 hours for the 10 people who paid out the ass to compete, and I won't get to hit anything because I have to leave town today.

I'm just butthurt that the park crew only threw up a jump for the incoming slope comp. They work like fucking molasses, and are collectively incompetent. Most mountains switch up their park every week. here at bwine we're lucky to get once a month. The setup they've had since opening is rutted out and stale.

Oh well, I'm about to spent the rest of my season at mad river. They are much better at building, maintaining, and switching up their park. They have 27 features up and a jump line already.

Also, bmbw appears to be the only ski hill in the fucking country without a singles line in their lifts. Really inconvenient for solo shredding.
 
Not to mention only half the lifts at BM are ever open. Why have croule open if you can't even get to it. So stupid.
 
Does anyone know why all the trails aren't open yet? I have enough snow in my backyard to groom it. How can BMBW still have 4 trails closed? (i feel like i just come in here and rant haha)

Is it croyle, tiger and north bowl? Haven't been to mills yet but that's what I'd guess.

On mobile so not gonna quote everyone but I wanted to hop in the rant with brewski and rparr.

I agree with everything said about the new GM. I spoke with some guys I know who work there and it sounds like nobody can stand him. For employee training there was a sting operation in which he placed an empty bottle on a major walk way along with a camera. Am employee didn't pick up the bottle so the GM proceeded to berate him and show the video in front of everyone (just what I was told).

I can't seem to find any useful updates on the site about overall conditions and do they even have a section for the parks anymore?

And speaking of parks.. BM has one of the worst setups I've ever seen. Obviously BW has always had the primary Park but mills is beyond pathetic. A down rail at the top of pride has literally no take off. Meanwhile the flat rail at the bottom has a take off with a lip that's at least 6 inches higher than the top of the rail. And the jump has no transition... Just lip then sloping flat landing. A throwback to bmbw in the early 2000s.

Yup, heard about that same sting operation from several of my friends. Oddly enough bmbw is one of peak resorts' highest grossing resorts. I've even heard they once out-profited mount snow because mount snow spends so much more to operate. They don't give a fuck at bmbw, they're rolling in it.

Not to mention one of the boyd brothers was caught for trafficking narcotics accross multiple states through hidden valley. Corruption and nepotism at its finest. Fuck the boyd family.

Heard there was a rebuild. On the page it says 11 new features. I know there's a jump, maybe 2. Wish they would post more information.
 
getting real fed up with em. I got a new pair of boots at Aspen S&B, and left by boots and skis there friday morning for a binding/release check.(My boots were a half size smaller so i wanted to make sure it all cleared). Its been 4 full days and they cant take 5 minutes and do a FREAKIN release check. It honestly takes 5 minutes. Aspen S&B did it in 10 minutes on my other pair of skis when i was there. Definitely the last straw. This place is a joke.
 
Why can't they just build the jump line like they did last year? I haven't been up this year but it looks like shit

It is shit. The season is passing us by very quickly and they've still yet to build bigger than a 20 foot jump. I feel so stupid for investing so much into this season, the park has been garbage all year.

And now that the ski clubs are done, who knows when they'll close. Probably will be pretty soon honestly. Which is even MORE reason why this place is a piece of sht. They open late cause they are afraid they wont make money, and close mad early cause they are afraid they wont make money. I get it, its a business, but there is no desire to invest in season passes anymore

They should really be open until the end of March. On an avg snowfall year they stay open until mid March. Given how late they opened this year and how much snow we have now, they'll really be shooting themselves in the foot of they close before the end of March. But I know im going to be sorely disappointed

Man i really hope so. I was grabbin a beer last night at BM and the bartender said she could see it closing any day now htat the ski clubs have stopped. Such a scam man.

Oh man, I've fucking had it with this dump. Today was the last straw. A ski patroller tried to take my pass, and swung at me with his poles because I wouldn't stop when he asked me to. I was hitting a rail 3 rails up from an injured kid they were tending to, like a whole fucking football field away.

Fuck this place.
 
I've yet to hear a single good thing about bmbw all year. A friend of mine tried making some suggestions for the parks on Instagram and instead commenting back they just blocked him. Nobody there gives a fuck about season pass holders and park riders and thats a shame because its those people who truly care about the resort

Is the same person as last year in charge of the parks this year? We have had such a good winter this year there is no reason for that place to be sucking so much.
 
Basically at this point I wouldn't be surprised if the GM saw this thread and tried to cancel everyone who complained's pass
 
No kidding man. That sucks. If only the GM would see this thread. I kind of want to email them with a link to the forum haha. They used to be soooo legit maybe 8 years ago. so so so legit. right now its just miserable.

Robbie Timko has been the park manager for a while. I heard he already signed a contract to work at mt. snow next year so he doesn't give a fuck about the parks here this year. what a piece of shit.
 
This season has been bad. If they give up in March like they did last year I will be mad. They closed with a lot of snow and cold temps last year then they give us a shit party in the park in May. I go to pknpk at the end of March and the conditions are still amazing.
 
The website says "Last Friday Night and Last Saturday Night" with the college night and ladies night specials.. No idea if this means they are closing or if they are just doing the specials. This would be UNREAL if they shut down next week. Would be absolutely pathetic.

I was up there last night. Pretty decent selection of rails tbh. You can get some flow and still have options to choose from. Big fan.

Didnt even bother with the jumps. Just not that fun.
 
Ray, they are concluding their Midnight Madness, not season. We will be doing the same after collegefest at mrm
 
yes the carnival is the 21 so that is the closing day for alpine skiing. But BRANDYWINE WILL BE OPEN TILL PEOPLE STOP COMMING. THE ONLY LIFT RUNNING WILL BE LIFT 3 (the main one to get to the top of everything) and the hills on that lift line will be all rails and jumps. and the bath rooms will be open thats it!!!!

this is confirmed by Bob miller himself. so we will be open till like MAY hopefully. they jsut need to push the snow all over there.
