I know there has been a thread on this but I figured I'd make a new one with updated info. The sale will occur on September 18th at midnight and it will have ridiculously low prices on the MR's and Districts that you all know plus 2 new models, the Shoots and the Mavens. The 09 skis are all updated and have been tampered to fit the needs of the community, many people gave their inputs and the skis were changed accordingly, so all the things you hear, for example, about the MR's falling apart, those don't apply to the 09 models

Bluehouse also is partnering with Look/Rossi so they will be selling the p18's, the px 12 jib's and the p15's at low prices as package deals with the skis. You will be able to buy those at 12:00 am on the 19th

The MR was stiffened in the tails to prevent faster wearing out and the topsheets were enhanced to prevent the chipping that everyone talks about. The tips were also rounded more and it now comes in a 164, 171, and 179, the dims are 125/93/120 and they have a totally legit new graphic

The District will now be made in a 176 and a 187 and is a stronger ski that is substantially stiffer than last year

The Mavens are new to BH this year and are a fat rockered charger ski with a long running length. They're made for pow floating and big mountain charging. They'll come in a 189 and be 154-139-151

The Shoots are the charger ski made for straightlining and going really really fast. It's the stiffest ski in the lineup for 09 and similar to the prophet 130 it fucking rips. dims are 149-128-133

PRICES WILL BE RELEASED IN A FEW DAYS, there's been a thread on TGR discussing the right prices, they will be more than last year because the upgrades use more expensive materials but the prices will still be ridiculously low, you could be scoring some 09 skis for like 300 bucks give or take.

This is a great opportunity to help a growing company set it off in the ski industry and to land yourself some super sick and super cheap skis. If you have any questions about the company or you want to check out the skis more, go to www.bluehouseskis.com and see all you like, but BH is a legit company and you will be happy with your skis, so sept. 18th at midnight you can score some really cheap skis

oh and i forgot to add that bluehouse will be shipping internationally this year so all you foreigners don't be shy

length on shoots?

i kind of wish there was one ski between the mr 179 and the district 187. like a nice mid fate 184 length. maybe with a bit of rocker. with the mr graphic. damn i love those graphics

Im really liking the MRs, even if they are a few mm thinner than i was hoping for. but im still kinda worried about the quality of them, ive heard they lose their pop and kinda fall apart pretty fast, at least last year's did.

Still, if the price is right, as well as with the binding deal, I may be down for grabbin a pair. God knows my skogens need to be retired to the world of urbans only.

Oh btw, what is the flex like on the MRs. it says med-medium hard but what would it be comparable to? Is it capable of charging the whole mtn or should it stay in the park and pow?

That is a very good move on Bluehouses part, new skis sound sick guys, just what people wanna hear, new improvements from the customers/riders imput

as i said above, bh was really focused on meeting the skiers standards and the biggest mr complaints were the tails rockering due to getting worn out and the topsheets chipping. they put stronger topsheets on them and stiffer tails in order to prevent everyone's complaints. as for the flex, the skis aren't that stiff but they also aren't invader soft, they flex nicely and have incredible pop which makes them feel softer. bh was kinda messed up on the flexes with how soft the districts were last year and they haven't updated the info from 08 yet.

from the website: "The most maneuverable and lightweight park ski from Bluehouse is back and it comes in three lengths for 2008: 179, 171, and the new 164. The 2008 MR has been enhanced from its original design with stiffer flex in the tail for more comfortable stomping. The new MR has a rounded top edge and more durable top layer to reduce chipping. This year’s design will definitely get you noticed as you show your steeze in the pipe, on the rails, and off the booters. Enjoy."

Updates:

I forget that not everyone has been following the different threads

over the weeks so I'll try and keep up with questions on here.

First, the sale will be on our website www.bluehouseskis.com

. It will run for 2 weeks but we don't recommend waiting that long.

Last year we sold out of our popular skis in about 1 week.

We ship anywhere in the world as long as you pay the shipping. We will

have a rate calculator during the checkout process for domestic and

international orders.

The Shoots have an almost flat tail. One of the mouse over icons on our

site says otherwise so we are updating that today. I'm attaching

profile picks of the Mavens and Shoots below.

Bindings can be purchased separately on the site

For those that rode our skis last year here are the changes that have been made.

MR - we stiffened up the MR slightly. Especially in the tail. It will

still be a playful ski for perfect for the park but it now has more all

mountain versatility.

District- As requested the District is a stiff ski. We added some

titanal and adjusted the core profile to increase stiffness throughout

with most of it going underfoot and in the tail.

We added better topsheet materials to improve the look and reduce chipping.

We just announced the prices on our site and I wanted to make sure you guys were in the loop.

As an update on contruction, we changed the tip spacer material to prevent delams and tested it thouroughly. We have improved on overall construction of the skis just wanted to thank everyone that gave us feedback throughout the year.

Hit us up with any questions on the sale or skis or whatever.

Question for Bluehouse about the Mavens:

I'm looking for a rocked ski this year and am considering the mavens. Where is your recommended mounting point?(how far back from center?) how much rocker(mm)? (how far back from the tips and tails and how much off the snow?) if you have a picture of the rocker, like a side photo with the skis together that would be super!

Also, I don't think I need the PX18's and would rather mount the PX15's to the Mavens. Can you guys put that package together?

Anyway, all your skis look sick. Wish I could afford to get them all. Cheers.

They look like they have a lot of rocker which is a good thing.

However, in the guys review of the Asylum (Maven) they were clearly cambered underfoot in the picture, or was that the Pro model (Shoots)????

Aight, I think I just got confused cause I was looking at like 3 different sites/pictures and specs at one time. I must have just been too stoked haha.

I guess it's just between Donner Party's and Mavens now, reverse sidecut or regular is the question haha.

the asylum was considered a prototype maven but it was kinda in between the shoot and maven, the mavens have zero camber but the asylum has the maven width and rocker

The Mavens have rocker too though right?

That's what the Bluehouse site says?

Well it says they have 0 camber underfoot but rockered tips and tails.

yeah, the mavens have 0 camber but are rockered in the tips and tails whereas the shoots have camber and have like early taper in the tips, the mavens aren't as intensely rockered as bents but they are a fat rockered pow ski

i'm not sure, it's probably similar to donner parties and more than arg's but probably not as much as hellbents or ep's
it's a fat rockered pow ski, so it'll shred, the exact amount of rocker doesn't matter

I'm attaching a profile view of the Mavens. It has zero camber underfoot. I'm away from my work computer so i don't have the exact figures but the rocker is about 40cm in the tip about 36cm in the tail.

The protos you saw on the TGR thread are one of the samples we made along the way before we finalized the design. We had some extra protos that had too much camber and were too stiff.

I'll try and keep up with any questions you guys have.

Some people have been surprised by this. We keep turning down shops that want to carry our skis. There are a few reasons for this.

We want to sell directly to the people that end up riding our skis. If you have any issues or suggestions you can call or email us directly. That relationship helps us know what we need to do to make skis that you, the rider, want.

We also want to make sure you can buy quality skis at a reasonable price. When you buy direct from us you don't have to pay the shop markup. That way we can have a preseason sale and sell a new 08/09 rockered twin at $374. If we went through shops we'd have to add at least $200 to our preseason pricing.

We know that a lot of people want to touch their skis before buying and that's what they use a shop for. They go in, look at the ski they want and then go online and find the best price. To help with this we are setting up a network of demo reps that will be able to offer on mountain testing. We will have a list of the local reps on our website in Oct. and how you can get in touch with them.

That is absolutely sick. Sets a great meaning to by skiers for skiers.

I always try to buy from core shops though rather than the internet even if I have to pay a bit more.

But since buying online directly from you is like supporting a core shop/company that's cool.

+karma

I'm stoked to find a local rep and see if I can demo some skis, hope there's one in the PNW.

p.s. Add a reverse sidecut ski next year

they usually send one along, it's like 22 inches long

also, jared, do you guys have any reps lined up for southern vermont? i want to see if i can check out mavens before buying them, i can't afford to buy 2 pairs of skis at the preseason sale

I wish I would have waited for this sale cuz i bought last year's MR's for the same price as the 2009s... sickest ski ever tho. keep it real

i just want to say thank you bluehouse for being such a sick company and you will have my purchase BLUEHOUSE FTW!

it sucks for me, i'm on the right coast so i have to either stay up till 2 in the morning and sleep through all my classes on friday or wake up and buy the skis before school at 7 in the morning

yeah also, the sale will start at 11:59 MST, THAT'S MOUNTAIN TIME

it trips me out that bluehose dosent sell to stores and yet there are kids on thier vaginas.

these guys belong in ski and skiing magazine, not on ns and freeskier. whats gonna happen when the owners finish law scool or medical school? ya real core
