Blue Mtn snow

actually that thing is the worst excuse for a c box i have ever seen. go to bear and see what a real c box is. blue tries, sometimes, but they always seem to fail miserably.

 
yeah well the flat down box is sick and the rainbow has been real nice lately, plus the first hit on sidewinder was primo last night

february 28th 2005 was officially the best day of skiing ever at blue mtn. everything was absolutely amazing, except the rails cause they got iced over. but who slides rails when there is 6 inches of fresh snow on the ground?

 
Yeah, unfortunately I was in my Level 1 snowboard exam on the 28th and 1st, but at least we were out riding for 14 hours. The crowds were a little thick this afternoon, but it was nice going around you twin tippers at the lift. Back on my skis tomorrow, can't wait!

Yeah, the trees off lazy, switchback, paradise, and tuts were nice yesterday. The cliffs off burma were nice too.

 
the park crue did a sick job designing the hits for the slopestyle, except for the roller thing, that was strange. i just hope to god that they leave the jumps as long as they are now so that you dont have to worry about overshooting anymore!

past few days blue has been blowing on sidewinder, hopefully they make a big hit! would be nice though if my bindings wouldnt have broken so i have to wait for them to get fixed.

Well, they changed the parks again. They added a medium jump in the lower park. They removed the large jump from the top of the top park, and added like 2 or 3 useless 2' high tables... looks like they should be for rails. They kept the flat jump next to the rollers. Oh, they changed the step-up to a hip... much nicer in my opinion.

 
so basically theres no hits bigger than 10 feet anymore... great. i dont understand the reasoning behind putting in a bunch of little tables over one big one.

 
duh justin, the only way to have an extreme park is to have small little shitter jumps like that so the race coaches can take their kids through there and fuck everything over

it is so fuckin shitty i hate it so much! the features in the slopestyle were big, smooth and you could do more than a hucked 7 off of it, but because blue only care about shitty skiers the guy in command(im too mad to remember his name) wont let them make big hits. it pisses me off so fucking much that i filled the suggestion box with hate messages.

well miller if it makes you feel any better, i am on their blacklist. they dont really know who i am but they want to take my pass away for writing them emails about how to improve the park. apparently, they dont take kindly to criticism. the management at that place just has it all wrong. i really dont wanna go back to that place after hitting perfect jumps and rails at steamboat

i applaud you for your efforts dorsey, but its not gonna do anything. i filled their suggestion box with pictures of park features all last year. it got absolutely nowhere. the only solution is for certain people to die at that mountain so some new management who has a clue can take over.

 
Well, some good news at Blue mountain. They have now made the lower sidewinder "S" turns into a permanent "snowcross" course. There is a sign up there now and it is pretty cool. Banked turns, rollers, and table top. Surprised the hell out of me when they opened it today!

 
no thats not good.... cuz that gives people more of a reason to go down sidewinder and the lower park. even though neither are good at the moment.. or ever will be.....

do you really think something like that would work at Blue Mt??? And do you really think management would allow something like that? They took half the shit down in the park because it was "too technical"... thats not saying much for any chances with making the park better. you just gotta deal with it until everybody dies off or the place is bought (which i heard it might be)... so for now... just huck yourself off the sweet rollers that are supposed to be jumps!

that place will not get better until dennis gets out of the 80's and realizes that people can ski a little better now than they did then, and that there are kids at blue who would be ten times better than they are if they had a decent park to ski. its sad, we arent even going to get spring skiing this year cause the bastards are closing easter weekend because they have weddings booked. i need to move out west.

 
If you really want to influence them stop putting money in their pockets get passes some where else and get you and everyone you know to do the same then write them a letter with everyone's signature also and here is what really works do the same but for anyone that sponsor's shit there if you can get enough people the sponor's will drop which will really get the people that run blue attention

good idea armadabc....i like it, but unfortunately, this season's almost up so it'll have to wait til next. ive been skiing at bear creek more often this year than i have in the past, and i really enjoy it there.....blue is about 10 minutes away from my house, so its my second home, but i think we need to go about making changes a more subtle and effective way

It is just a matter of time now before the mountain is sold. The owner had lunch at BC not too long ago, and thought BC was taking business away. They are going to replace the challenge lift with a 6 pack... but we also need lots more trails. Hopefully we will be able to start the Freeride skiing program next season. We are petitioning hard for management to allow skiers to be allowed to help design the terrain park.

 
you rat bastard type it again. and as far as freeriders, trevor (freeridin tre) and i talked to keith, and its looking really good. he's gonna set up the coaches certification for us either late this season at killy or early next season. he definately wants skiers on park crew next year too. the 6 pack thing, i dont know that they really need that, but the sooner ray sells that place and gets some new management in there, the better

yeah freeriders is happening fo sho next year, bob mal is out of the head of ski school, and rumor has it ray sold the mt. so maybe next year we will see some changes

yeah i just looked at the usasa rankings and theres a few kids from around here nationally ranked, but some of the kids from blue could be right up there for sure. hopefully the freeriders program gives some kids a chance to get their names out there

 
maybe if Blue Mt. was actually sold... it would live up to the potential that it actually has...
