Blue Mtn snow

i dunno, maybe we're skiing two different pipes, but the one i rode thursday, no more than 2 days after they cut it, was crumbling. seemed like they didnt let the snow settle long enough to firm up, then cut it, and it fell apart. and the last stepdown on sidewinder is gonna result in lots of hospital visits in the coming weeks i'm thinking.

 
Well, I meant it was good for blue. Were you in it like last week? Before we got the fresh snow rain it was real nasty. Of course I would like it to be a snow-made superpipe... but for some reason today it seemed pretty decent.

Step-up gap jump on the right side of the upper park. You are right, it has hospital written all over it. Who designed that anyway? I liked it when it was a hip type jump better.

 
Oh, yeah.. the step DOWN. That one is sketchy because most people do not realize it is a step down util the hit the flat and crash.. especially the snowboarders.

 
Actaully the step-up-gap up top looks pretty cool, but I have not seen anyone do it yet. I guess you can't hit the rail/jump on the left first, just hit it will all the speed you can get after the rollers.

 
They finally put the new fun box in the lower park. I have to say that it is awesome. Nice and wide with a brand new top. Crowds were still crazy, but the new box was a lot of fun.

 
Yeah, I responded to what I thought was a new post but it was really the thread starter at the top of the page. Then I thought he was talking about the step-up not the step down. Too much time on my hands this weekend!

 
yeah the new box is pretty decent. it was a little sticky at first, but once the freeriders kids had their session going it started to slide pretty nice. i think i held my own with the snowboarders, as far as i saw, no other skiers were doing anything except riding straight across it.

because the guy was a midlife crisis on straight skis and thought it would be 'Xtreme' to cut me off, ride across it straight, then get pissed when i stomped a 270 out onto his crappy skis.

 
the box would be sweeter if it was flat down and not up flat like they set it up, the wrong way.

hahaha justo... hahahahahah... not as bad as bear though.. a kid thourgt he would b 'EXTREME' by 5050 the rainbow box on his board... he got to the top stoppedand i drilled him... i was like wtf... at least i didnt fall or get hurt

ha somebody said that when we cut in front of them in the lift line tuesday. oh well. got yelled at for saving blue from being sued today. the kink box was supposed to be ride on but there was a good 3 inches of box sticking out in front of the ride on. so we went to fix it and some crazy snowboard instructor started flipping on us. crazy zinkies

 
yeah yeah, i will be up early too, look out for me i will have a blue and grey sessions jacket with brown pants and the original pe's. not enough of the skiers at blue chill in the park, i think kevin t is coming up too, i will see you up there.

i'm going miller. i dunno if i will make it up there at 7:30, but i will be there. finally got 5s with grabs back, then i overshot/overrotated and killed my hip. good times.

 
I just remember that this weekend is Subaru Family Fun Weekend. I hope it does not get as busy as last weekend.

 
Ok, so who saw me do a nasty face plant off the first jump in the lower park. PRski28, I think you were there. I think I may have fractured my pelvis on that one. I was laughing at myslef until I tried to get up. Maybe that is why nobody helped me...

 
2 bruised knee caps, bruised upper ribs, and I have not been to the Dr. for my pelvis yet. I honesty have no idea what happened, just that it hurt. I think I am going to blame it on those damn short skis.

 
am i just wierd or does anyone else love the step down right before the crail, i think its so much fun to spin. if only it was a little bit longer i would throw some real stuff off of it.

if only it didnt turn into an icy death halfway through the day after you left miller, then i would love it a little more. i dunno what i was doin with my 3's off that thing, i was landing all weird...

 
i pulled a 5 off the step down right before the step down and almost killed myself...other then that it seems pretty nice early in the morning before it gets all icy and choped up

justin, stop doing 3's, they will be the death of you haha......is it just me, or does anyone else hate landing forward as much as i do? switch landing's fo life! 3's should be illegal!!! down with three hundered and sixty degree rotations!!!! haha

what about switch 3s? are they fair game? i gotta detune my skis a bit, i was hooking edges real bad riding switch on sunday. but the 4frnts are finally back, no more wet noodle 1080s

 
Yeah, I hooked an edge on Sunday... In fact I had just beveled my edges on Saturday night.

What kind of bevel setup are you guys using? I have been using 1/1 on my twin tips.

 
on the odd chance that i actually tune my stuff, 1 degree side, 20 or 3 degree base. that way the edges dont get killed from rails quite so much

anybody know if they are gonna build the jumps back up to nonovershootable lengths anytime soon, its a shame with how good the lips are most of the time that the landing is only 5 feet from it.

anyone besides me want to murder whoever decided they couldnt build lips onto rails anymore? we are trying to get as many people as possible together to complain to management about it tomorrow, saturday, to see if we can get things back to how they were 2 weeks ago when it was actually fun to ride that park. if you have a complaint, either find me to go with a group tomorrow, or go down to keith or tim in the snowboard school and let them know the park sucks.

thanks for the update dorsey, i wasnt really planning on hittin that up, we had a real good day of legit all mtn skiing today at blue, challenge, razors, and lazy were all really fun and not icy for once, and the park sucked, so we took some real runs and just made kids look silly in the lower park afterwards. good times and congrats to KT and the rest of the BMT on their complete domination at boulder last night.

I am up at Okemo for the park and pipe clinics. 22' walls on the Sobe Superpipe... SICK!!!!! Will be back at Blue on Saturday morning, hope to not kill myself again.

 
blue mt is having a slopestyle this year in place of the death, i mean big air, march 6th. gonna be judged and set up by blue's park crew so ed is out of the loop, should be tight. who was planning on attending?
