in case anyone cares, which i know a few of you here do, blue mountain had the guns going full force last night. decent amount of snow on the ground and as of right now it looks like they are still blowing on mainstreet.

montage didnt blow because its a waist it will be 55 and rainy on tuesday here.there are already in debt so why waist the money to blow snow that will melt. besides that i read from insomniac i belive on pasr they have an instructor thi ng at blue the 11t and 12th, that might be why they are blowing.

 
you dont need snow for instructor course i believe.... its more classroom stuff right? neone take it? also we are going full force to cover as much as we can with snow...even though i think we will def. loose a large about in coming days.. but blue has the money lol

um actually ITC is more or less all on snow. i'm still sticking to my prediction of the 17th. i'm gonna head up tomorrow to try and get my pass, see whats up

 
actually i was wrong about montage not blowin. they blew 3 slopes last night. they blew on the bunny mainline and cannonball. i was lookin out my window and it looks like mainline has a base top to bottom. im going to walk up and see what cannonball looks like.

 
Yea i took ITC at bear and theres was only like 2 hours out of an entire weekend that was classroom. But they did also say that if there wasnt any snow it would be entirely indoors. So it helps a lot if they have snow but it's not required

same thing happened to me last year. the instructor asked us to ski backwards, so i let everyone else go, they make their feeble little wedges, and then i went and started carving switch. my instructor told me that i didnt know how to ski. i laughed at him.

 
the snow is all melting....it looks like it is going to be cold the rest of the week though...but I bet the 17th as well for pa resorts....I guess it will be another trip to the ice rink for some snow to do some rails this weekend....oh well

who all is skiing blue this year, id like to associate some names and faces with ns names and maybe ski with some peeps. i ski the older pes and have a grey and yellowish green sessions jacket with camo a-frames, maybe some people know me. usually ski with justo and kevin thomas too, post some more names and descriptions so we can recognize each other this year.

um im usally at bear but i go 2 blue a fair amount

i ski blue all the time,,,last year i had a blue and white jaket but this year i will be sporting a grey jaket and tm's and 1080's with blue and darkcamo wisdom goggles....cya there

haha miller. friday night? they better have a rail, or we're gonna have to resort to sliding benches, tree stumps, or whatever else we can find. and theres a couple girls on here who ski at blue.

josh? with the hottest flowered ski pants from new jersey? anyway. blue is planning to open the 17th with 6 trails, easy out, vista, school hill, explorer hill, mainstreet and midway. no park set up for opening day, but they acquired a c box, rainbow box, and some other boxes and rails for this year, so things are looking better for blue. although their rental shop employees should never be trusted to mount real skis, they messed up my friend's new karmas real good today.

whoa buddy, theres stuff in there from two years ago that they never put in the park!? god i hate the management at that place. you see to it that all that stuff gets into the park this year, okay? and get us a rail for opening day, even if it is that god awful mailbox, i'll take anything. and i just asked dennis sr what new stuff they got for the park, since the old flatbox is gone, and thats what he told me, i'm guessing you are confirming that i am right?

 
they just need a decent jump thats always consitent and at least 20 ft. not this like 5 ft table top shit with the holes in the landings from stupid people.

sorry buddy, but none of us are from your area, we are stuck in the craphole that is the lehigh valley, with about 2 feet of snowfall a year, if we are lucky.

 
justin i asked who i know and noone knws anything about the C-box or anything... we repainted and reworked everything from last year, were done with that now im not sure about getting rid of box.. i didnt see it repainted but they might have when i wasnt there.. a small C channed rail will be put in lower park...we also cut and re welded the rainbow/kink drop off rail.. the drop is only like 5 inches now instead of a foot... if u have any ideas for new rails that we can weld together yet this year lemme know... itd be good if u can get me pictures... something simple but i dunno where we'd place it... i talked with the gusy bout possibly roller coatser rail and med. sizes S rail.... also we got a rumor that possibly giving sidewinder back as a ski trail and building a new trail for the park... you'll see where the path is cut when ur up there skiing u cant miss it...i was talked with a few guys and if it becomes a terrain park watch what we'll build for it... (we wanan make more but we dont have room to put stuff). or we might keep sidewinder and have new ski trail.. also rumor of new quad lift for next year.. but i didnt tell u guys that.... i just got back from making snow we have easy out, vista , midway, mainstreet blowing 2 night and we have about 6ft piles as of 10 pm....night cre will be out all night and ill be out again tom.

so you guys will actually take serious consideration in this? i'll do better than pictures, i'll make you blueprints if you really want. and it was dennis sr, the mtn manager who told me about the new rails, he said they were getting them from sunny river (aka Sunday River, he just cant articulate very well) and said they probably werent there yet, so that could be why you havent seen them. and is that new trail gonna be game this year? there is plenty of room on sidewinder for more stuff, you just need to set it up better. bottom park, theres no need for any jump other than the first one, the pitch isnt steep enough for anythign decent other than that, so just fill the rest with rails, like lots of options, so you cant hit every one each run. i'm sure you could fit lots more stuff up there than they have now. and that dropoff rainbow thing is possible the worst rail in the history oh humankind, even if it is rewelded and possibly doable this year. but that requires a legitimate lip onto it now doesnt it? but thats out of your hands....

 
why does blue not just get some longer nicer rails, like a more mellow and longer flat down or like a 30 to 40 foot down sloping rail, that would be so nice. and btw the cbox is coming and its actually really good, lets just hope it wont become a ride on rail for shitty snowboarders and their 50-50s.

the drop rainbow should have the 2nd part tripled and put a gap in between. it was cooler to just launch off the first side cuz the 2nd was so short.

theres plenty of potential josh. first of all, they have nearly twice the vert that bear does. that alone gives them potential to do a lot. they're a little behind on this whole freeriding/jibbing scene, whatever you want to call it, but i think this year, things might finally be a little different. i've been hearing good things so far from some of the higher ups at blue. we'll just have to wait and see how everything plays out once we actually get into the season.

 
i think if blue is smart they will build a sweet park... a bad side affect would b no1 would ever ski at bear... blue is in a much better location than bear

^^ exactly THEY ARE BEHIND, so far. You expect them to change that much that they will just suddenly have 20,30,40,50ft tables and solid setups to rails and jibs? Come on justin be realistic here I mean yes we can all hope but blue mt has never made a decent hit in my mind. I hope they do somethin but I still dont believe it. Just goto Bear Creek you have a pass there and save yourself the agony that Blue Mt causes.

one problem with blue is to many people go there to have a sweet park, bear may turn into that and there lift capacity sux, anyone can build a good park, but the lay out of blue sucks, justin dont get me wrong, i grew up skiing doe and blue, but home is where the heart is and bear is home, i dont see very much potential other then skiercross, but it doesnt mean its not a big part of my routes, my suggestion, 'Full Time Park Crew'. well see if this new trail pans out, either way ill be up there friday around 1230 to 1245 on the snow, so if u feel like hanging around the entrance block, feel free! ill cya there

see thats how blue is for me, as good as bear's park may be, blue is my home, and they do have a lot of potential to make it a lot better than it is. they have a full time park crew this year, with a full time groomer specifically devoted to the park, unless i was lied to by the park crew manager. i'll be there more or less all day tomorrow, and i got my 4frnts mounted up. since theres only like 2 trails, shouldnt be too hard to find me.

 
ok i hate to rationalize but were talkin about blue mt here. I know I don't what goes behind the scenes there, but I do know the place's past history. Now Im hearing they are moving the main park off sidewinder? If you ask me the best 'trail' on the mt for the park is paradise but i kno they will NEVER put one there b/c its there PRIMARY beginner trail. So where are they moving the main park too?

Every year we hear the same thing. I remember back like 3-4 years ago they said they had a new park groomer and the new park would be sick. It wasn't. People are always saying how good it will be 'this year'. It has never been good. Hopefully what some are saying is true and this year it live up to the potential it has.

Skiing influences my life way too much, I can be at some surf spot where theres not any snow at all and I walk by this resturant and I'll see a hand rail outside it and I'll have a thought that how can I get snow out here to slide this rail. Which is absolutly super stupid- Jon Olsson
