Blue Mountain park?

Does anyone know what else the badlands park at blue will new this year. I know they are getting the superpipes, but any new rails, quarter pipe, hips or table changes? Thanks

This is from another thread :p:

'Yeah dude, blue's park line is NEVER big. That's the advantage of the park pass thing.

And we're going to make things OFF THE HOOK next year. Bigger, badder jumps, more rails set up in a line, rhythm section (maybe)

Biggest best jumps in the area, best maintained pipe, and better rails than whistler. 12'-12'-12' Flat-bar Double kink 42' double bar rainbow 12'-6'-12' tabletop (trapezoid) rail 40' double-bar and many, many more...

Probably have 2 money jumps like this year. ie. double-takeoff in a line for two hits at 15'-30' and two hits at 40'-60' Hips.... Maybe a quarter....

And we're hoping to build a step-up next year too. We had one at the end of the year, and some of the guys and I have been talking about throwing it in again as a regular park feature.

Anyways, if you live anywhere near Blue, it's silly to ski anywhere else. We've got the best park Southern Ontario will EVER see.

Yup.

Why can't we all just get along?'

'Ok, I didn't read anything above - but I know that whatever Doug said was good... If you really care about a park at all you would go to Blue Mountain. It is now 1000 times better than any other hill in Ontario for park. There are never long lines in the Badlands park, the pipe is groomed everynight, superpipe comming soon (maybe as soon as this comming season), big ass jumps (biggest this year was a 50ft big air style kicker), crazy rails (40ft or something dumb like that double kink rail and many more), sound system throughout the park, inverts allowed (with a helmet), and a park pass system that preventst he total hacks from skiing the park and just makes everyone keep their heads up a bit more. I was at moonstone once this year and the park etiquite there was TERRIBLE. Noone listened to anyways, people would hit jumps while there was someone lying on the landing (I was literally hitting them in the head with my pole as they were going over the jump), entire familys going to the top of jumps than starnding there not knowing how to get down, and so on... and they play the radio for their music.'

i just talked to the manager of mammoth unbound and there is no way thats happening. mammoth is run by mammoth, not intrawest.

yes they do own 59% - but not the voting shares. dave Mccoy is still in charge here. besides - intrawest is mainly a REAL ESTATE developer. they are comin in to mammoth and building the villages and stuff like that. they pretty much have no say in the parks

Thanks boys and girls. Blue sounds like it will be pretty good for Ontario. I cant wait for those superpipes...they will be amazing. And as for the Mammoth rails, mabye Mammoth has just sent over the blue prints like the article said. That would be so so so good.

no. not unless someone broke into the unbound office and stole the rail diagrams plans for blue

Jodi, this is all wicked news, but i must say, i dont really agree with any of you on the short lift lines thing. Already last year on a weekend or a busy day there would be a bit of a bottleneck at the chair. Now with all this park development, and with what looks like everyone else in ontario switching to blue - the double chair will surely be crowded.

A triple (and right to the top of the badlands ridge) would be a great help. If it hasnt been done already then i guess its too late for this season. But im warning you all, be prepared for possible lift lines.

im just wondering why they are caliming all this shit about mammoth unbound, when the pwerson incharge of the unbound doestn even know the hill exists. its flase advertising - trying to use our reputat5ion to boost theirs

(ps im drunk so fuck off)

Yeah dude, why do you have to be such a dick about it?

I mean, we're a measly 800 feet, and all we've got is our park.

Sure, you are better and bigger, but we're not going to steal any of your business.

And the rail plans, what we got was probably like 2 years old for you.

We're stoked, because this is a big move for us, and the people that ski here are going to finally have a chance to ride some bigger stuff.

I can't believe that you are being the schoolyard bully and crushing our dreams here.

Why do you feel the need to do that?

People, don't worry. Even though we may not be as cool as mammoth, it'll be good for ontario. And nobody will treat you like a holier-than-thou asshole.

So come to blue. If you give me enough warning, I can try to get custom jumps built for you. :)

I'm over it.

dont get me wrong - i think what you guys are doing is great and more resorts need to put money into their parks, but it just seems funny how your saying youve been getting plans from mammoth and stuff like that, when everyone here has no clue who you are even.

I think you are taking too much offense to people using 'Mammoth style rails' to describe what is happening in their park. Mammoth has arguably the best park out of any resort, and everyone can identify when someone describes somethink like that. Also, whoever you were talking about at Mammoth, who may be in charge of the Unbound Park, may have not heard about Blue Mountain, but the higher-ups do, and it would definetly be in their power to share plans or ideas. I just don't know why Joe Hussain and Intrawest aren't trying to do something like this at Whistler. It used to be No. 1, but they haven't changed the park enough in the last couple years fast enough to keep up with the rest of the resorts.

By the way, huge props to Blue for progressing their park, I'm definetly going to check that out this year.

'Mamoth Mountain sent Blue mountain the blueprints of their superpark, and new GIANT rails have already been undergo'

read the post before you talk next time. i could care less if they were using 'mammoth style rails'.

the guy i talked to is in charge of the unbound - if anything is happening he is the one too know it.

wow... you are a dick... I really was envious of all the cool stuff mammoth had and was planning a 2 week trip there in March... but you know what, you totally turned me away from that. Instead I'll ski somewhere that has hospitable ambassadors... I'm sure mammoth would love to hear about the great PR work you do... is there anyone I should speak to specifically

vote quimby.

alright im sorry for being a dick. now lets just drop it, roll a big fat one and relax :)

Blue Mountain is phat, Kissing Bridge two hours south of Toronto in Buffalo New York has a sick terrain park. Check it out, this year they've revamped and, its got tons of rails, a huge battleship like the one at Summit eight or nine big hits, and a big pipe.
