Bloomberg refuses National Guard help because they carry guns.

He definitely worded it poorly. The guy has been running a city in chaos for about a week now, I doubt he's well rested. I don't know anyone in that state who wouldn't make mistakes.
 
Are some of you really scared of our military? Holy shit, if my city had a disaster and the National Guard came I would feel 100x better. Knowing that we have them as security in a time of need and helping out is huge to me. And have you seen some of the videos in other places when aid comes with water/food/supplies the trucks can be totally over thrown and looted.

They are a security force. They carry guns. They help people. I think some of you feel that they would move in with tanks and air planes while firing rounds down the street. These are humans that want to help their fellow americans.
