Blocking people?

For the first time I noticed that there's an option to block someone on NS... what does that do? Like how much of what you post can someone you've blocked see? Do they know they're blocked?

Blocking means they can't message you. They can still see your posts though.

I think when you block someone it should be like Facebook, you shouldn't be able to see their profile, posts, videos, photos etc. Just stopping them from messaging you doesn't really do anything, they can still follow you around the website quoting your posts or down voting your content/posts, posting in your feedback, etc. The block feature on NS right now is basically useless

Yeah problem with that is absolutely nothing on Newschoolers is built in the way of specific user-user content filtering. We filter stuff as a community, so everyone sees the same thing.

Facebook was engineered from the ground up to tailor what you see completely individually. They also have spent billions on development.

The block feature is useless, it was designed to prevent harassing PMs and that is it.
