Blink 182 deserves props, they didn't sell out. Maybe some people think so, but I would like to know why. Because there songs are catchy, and good. Because the majority of the teenage population actually like them. Go listen to your death metal you fags. Just because music is catchy doesn't mean the bands a sell out. It means they have found a sound that pleases almost everyone. Blinks old music is way better, but there new stuff is good to. They were the 1st Punk band to make it really huge. You don't see any other punk band livin in huge mansions before Blink came around. Alot of little bands have piggy backed off Blink, Like Sum 41 and New FOund Glory. Again they got some good songs, but really they should be the ones you should be pissed of at. Blink strayed from the scene. They are not punk and there not pop. And both punkers and poppers hate them. They created there own type of music which is really cool. And they also helped alot of bands which you all listen to now get huge. You guys are such losers', 'Blink sucks they sold out, I want to be original everyone look at me, I hate Blink'. They are amazing artists and thats all that has to be said. Fuckers

poeple dont hate them before they are successful, i dont think.. its becuase they 'sold out' and made their music to appeal to a different audience, which is exactly what they did. they changed their audience in order to make more money. i liked their old stuff more and their is an obvious difference in the style of their music.

 
blink 182 just plain ass suck! i don't listen to death metal but there are REAL PUNK BANDS out there! ex: Bouncing Souls, Pennywise, Lagwagon, NOFX...and much more! you just like them because they're all over the media!

I am not a blink fan at all...they used to be terrible. I saw them a long time ago when they wanted to be all punk and hardcore but they were horrible. They found their sound which is poppy not punk but dont hate them for becoming succesful, hate them for sucking.

A similar band, Sum 41, played with the Bouncing Souls around here, Sum 41 got booed off the stage so the Bouncing Souls could play.

Nothing against them.... they did change thier music tho... and it was definatly to become more successful. Whatever tho, it really makes no difference to me. Their music isn't that bad, some of it's catchy, the problem I have, is when people call them punk, which they are far from.

my friend threw a half full 22 at the stage when sum41 played warped tour. they played at the same time as Rancid, so you could tell the age difference and punk-12 year old 'different' kid ratio

admit it blink is sellouts, so is pennywise but i wont get into that, anyways i just don't l ike there music, all pop bands are sell outs considering they only make their music for it to be 'popular' hence why they make pop music, and second blink was not the first band to make it big that was punk, the ramones may not have the money to show it but once again do you want to base success on money or the amount of respect you get from the industry.

for example it was not blink 182 who made it on these 'industry' magazines such as rolling stone or spin, ramones were #2 right behind the beatles, now i dont read those nor could i care aobut them because i can decide for myself who my biggest influences are and stuff, but even tho this punk band the Ramones never even got near the respect they deserve from the general public, such as yourself, who are too into blink 182, they are still sooo influencial to todays music and most people dont even know it.

but anyways

yes blink 182 are sellouts and

2: no they are not the first punk band to make it big, for many reasons i.e they are not punk and i.e2) they may have money but are not was widely respected as many other acutal punk bands

but you know something, id prolly do the same thing if i were going to get millions of dollars but since i will never be in that situation i think it is safe for me to say this

The only good thing about a New Found Glory is that one of the members used to be in Shai Hulud...any band that puts out an entire album of cover songs including some really really lame ones should be shot. Except for Me First and the Gimme Gimmes because they cover good tunes and that is all they are a cover band.

dfresh not all pop bands are sellouts. would you consider nirvana sellouts? they were technically 'pop,' they were the biggest band around at their time.

and blink was pretty good, buddah and chesire cat, even dude rance...all good fast paced albums, then something happened to them, i think it was the cocks they put in each others asses, but i can;t be sure. but they did start to suck nuts. i don;t hate them, just think they suck nuts now. i actually admire that they can use little kids so much to become rich as shit.

and yeah. pennywise is one awsome band that have never straffed from their origninal mindset.

as for sum 41...how can a band all about being stupid idiots sell out? they never stood for anything.....their music remains the same.....sure they suck...but sell out...no, you have to change to sell out. and i still don;t get how shai hulud could produce NFG (who really really sucked at the toronto show with green day...only thing good was their bass(

Just because you don't like a band doesn't mean they are terrible. You guys aren't music gods that can judge good music from bad music, so don't try. You're entitled to your opinion is just yours.

the only reason blink 182 is good is because they coloborated with robert smith from the cure on there new album...that is the oNLY reason though

BLINK, PENNYWISE, NOFX, SUM41, ETC.. (PUT WHINY POP BAND HERE) ARE NOT PUNK. punk is dead in the mainstream and probably always will be. those bands are probably inspired by punk but that doesnt make the punk. like ska is inspired from reggae but that doesnt make ska reggae does it?
