ive had this trick for a while on boxes and bigger rails but ive just been noticing that when im on urban rails and i do it i tend to land a bit on my tips and don't really grip the rail again i know im jumping a little off the rail but anyone have any expirience in fixing this?im thinking maybe im gas peddling a bit hard and its throwing me that way? and dont say just jump straight up

do not look at your feet. look for the end of the rail, that will help keep your balance focused down the rail instead of to one side

i assume you know how to balance on an urban, so keep in mind that when you get on you need to use your weight to keep back just a bit when you get on so you can transfer you weight to going straight down the rail because you come in on an angle. Basically im saying worry about getting on properly first and sliding in the right direction before doing the switchup, itll get more natural the more you do it, the whole switchup part is the same
goodluck with that

thread jack, i didnt wanna make a new one. im just learning blindside switchups and i can butter around 90 and then jump and finish the switchup but if i try to do the full switchup i straight up fall. i know i need to lean farther forward, or have more of my weight forward, but when i do this i cant pop nearly enough. i guess im looking for advice or an easy way to fix it if anyone has had this problem. sorry for the thread jack...

i had the same problem when i was learning them on boxes.
fixed it by spotting the landing on the rail after the 180 as if i were just reversing the way i was travelling on the rail.
so, if im sliding right foot forward, instead of doing the 180 and thinking about sliding left foot forward, i would do the 180 and picture i was sliding the rail up the hill toward the lip, leading with my right foot. looking back like that helps you see the rail and helped me keep my balance.
are you talking street style rail in a park like a rectangular bar or an actual urban rail?

I feel like everyone is missing what your saying completly. I dont know how to fix what your doing but still good luck bro.
