my schools outdoor club took a day trip to windham early season and on the chairlift goin up i saw a blind skier. litteraly a blind skier. he had this orange bib on that said blind skier on it and he had these two guys with him telling him where and when to turn and stuff. it was so awesome. my friends were bashing on him and it was so cold hearted. i got mad respect for blind skiers cuz not being able to see doesnt stop them from doing something they love. it just goes to show you how much of a passion skiing is to people, and it really represents our sport in a unique way. power to the blind skiers!

I worked at the Paralympics in Utah last season, and the blind skiers in the downhill were amazing. These guys have such an amazing system down with their guides. They have a speaker system in thier helmets so they know what's up. The blind skiers were hauling too, it was amazing.

I was standing at the finish one day, and one of the guides fell, so he coulnd't tell the skier where to go, and the blind skier skied right into the back of the finish. He got up and said, 'I didn't see it coming,' and lauhged. It was one of the funniest things I have ever heard.

i give them mad props. its got to be so hard to ski without vision. i find nothing funny about people who are blind skiing. it makes me happy that people, no matter what their disabilities are can enjoy skiing

I have seen a few blind people at a few different resorts.. They are really good for being blind.. im impressed for sure

I saw alot of blind people on my trip out west. I was skiing at winterpark chillin on the park the last day i was there and this no legged guy in the ski-wheelchair had a pocket rocket mounted underneath his chair and hit like a 50 footer and landed it, it was pretty fuckin nuts. I saw alot of blind people that week too.

have you ever closed you eyes while skiing? its hard to not open them and look, even when you know there is plenty of space in front of you. i have no idea how blind skiers have the balls to go skiing or the trust to trust the person thats directing them.

 
At my hill, they have a program for disablied skiers. I think its the greatest thing ever. Those people have so much heart and drive to do one of the best things in the world. I saw a blind guy on the hill one day and looked at him, and it looked like he was having the best time of his life. Mad props to anyone who is disablied in anyway and still goes out skiing.

there was one goin down the blackcomb glacier one time i was there, i'm not kidding. he had a guide with him who would tell the blind guy when to turn and stuff. but i didn't have time to watch that blind guy ski down ever so slowly, i had to rip up the glacier!

at the waterramps last summer (utah) there was a one legged guy learning backflips, it was dope, and then a guy who was a parapalegic who was hitting the single too

I had a counsellor back in grade school who was in a wheelchair (motorcyle accident). Even after he lost the use of his legs, he would still scuba dive and ski. He was also into wheelchair racing (both on and off-road). We used to see him pop wheelies around corners in the school hallways.

Oh yeah, blind, one leg, and sleders are all great, it makes you apreciate the sport you take a part in. And my sister is big into racing, sponsered by fisher, but she tore stuff up in her knee playing soccer, and will not be able to ski next year. She is going to try one of those sleds.
