Blends in Kingsman 2?

I was watching the second Kingsman movie last night and the skis two of the characters are holding look like the 2016 blends. I didn't see any Line branding on them but their topsheet is pretty recognizable. Kind of an odd choice for a prop. I wonder why they chose those over any other ski.

Obviously since they removed the branding they didn't want anyone to really notice what kind of skis they were. That being the case, the best way to have no one notice the skis would be to just have them blend in. So the best ski to blend in the background are blends of course.

When I saw the movie in theatres I knew the skis looked familiar but it took me a little bit to realize they were blends

I posted about this in "post what's on your mind" (check page 1386 ish) about 3 months ago when the movie first came out...since at the time I guess I didn't think it was thread worthy? idk lol. What we came up was that Line, being a small company probably didn't feel like paying the required "product placement" endorsement money to showcase their brand in the film. So the team making the film just removed all branding from the ski so that they could legally use it in the film.

Ahh I did a search before I posted but nothing came up. Damn search. You're probably right about the product placement costs.

Actually, truth be told we had no idea they would be in the film. Super random but really cool to see. They choose wisely, the Blend is awesome. (haven't seen the movie, any good?)

Mildy relevant side story: We were on the Price is Right! haha! It's one of the only game shows who doesn't ask for $$ (just the gear donation) to be featured on the show, they just called us up, I guess someone was a fan. These type of weird out-of-industry media hits are funny and anecdotal but are just that for small brands, I don't think they really move the meter in sales. But if we could get Jerry Seinfeld to endorse our gear, that would be the shit. - josh

Hey that's pretty interesting actually, you should watch the film though it's pretty awesome and even cooler that your guys ski is in the film for a few scenes even though it's unbranded. The film is extremely ridiculous though so prepare yourself haha. Thanks for the insight though, the price it right thing is cool too.

I find it kinda funny how they would have just taken the ski and taken all the branding off without even contacting about it but it makes sense it guess.

awesome! Yep standard Hollywood / commercial stuff, branding is distracting to the film I guess sometimes and the paid stuff is reserved for the big guys (Apple, Ford, ect). When LJ, Cody & Sandy were the stuntman in XXX they did the same thing to go along with the film. Would have been nice to get a logo in there tho!
