What pop son.
I'm a boarder, have and always will be. Buttttt I wanna try skiing and eventually be bi-snow-curious and swing both ways ;)
I've tried one time this season and it was legit.
Basically I just want advice for prospective buying, heres the specs:
5'8size 9 shoe (as far as I know I think I'd be a 27 in a ski boot?)
Lookin for a cheap as possible park/all mountain (I guess) set up.
All suggestions are welcome and will be researched.
Shpanks guise.

For some cheap park skis that will work for all mountain, yet kill for their price, check the Line Masterminds.

You thought you were a size 27 right? Don't just buy a 27 online. Make sure you go to your nearest shop and try on the boots before you buy em

I normally dont rip on people but: HOLY SHIT DONT ASK THE FUCKING SHOE SIZE TO BOOTS SIZE....ITS BEEN SAID A MILLION TIMES ON HERE DONT GO BY YOUR SHOE SIZE AND GO TO A BOOTFITTER

thats not true at all, everyone knows full tilts are the only boot that will ever fit you.

im here to preach the awesomeness of blue house skis. Get bluehouse MRs. There amazing. AND CHEAP. Check em out

I'm in the same boat as you dude. Picking up a pair of boots and a used pair of skis at the end of the summer, we'll see how the season goes. Super excited. totally going to be doing cork 9's in like a month...

We'll see. I was a highly mediocre park snowboarder to start with. I plan on putting up some kind of log to document my progress, but that's for later.

He's a homeless dude who lives under a bridge with a unicorn, he's alright besides how sketch he is...dude is nuts...

Such a passionate and lovely fellow you are. I think you should all caps more, its tight.

And for guy who asked what my price range would be: cheap as possible, I basically just wanna mess around in the park, no need for intense quality shit

i went from boarding to skiing when i moved to utah. changed my life

ps.. I totally landed cork 9's my first day

it depends. it easier to learn to jump on skis, but harder to learn tricks. its hard to learn to jump on a snowboard, but easy to learn tricks after that. same kind of thing with rails.

Chill out. Also you haven't been here for that long so you can't say that it's been said a million times. I think that the masterminds would be a good bet for you, with possibly look px10's (if you haven't skied before, you won't need more than a 10 din unless you are like 200lbs)

my brother might be selling his old skis and boots for next season, not sure if the boots will fit, but the skis will probably be around perfect for you

Thats sick! Haha I wouldn't be surprised if his boots fit me...
If he still has all that when I'm ready to buy, I'll gladly buy from a real homie

street shoe size is bigger than ski boot size.... you get a ski boot to fit way the fuck tighter than your skate shoes (i havent tightened and tied a pair of skate shoes in forever)

dont mount your skis back. its hard as fuck to turn switch.
get:
full tilt booters 28marker griffons or look px12line afterbangs just because they have good pop for learning tricks

dont go by this. i have an 8.5/9 size foot and i wear a 25.5 boot. we cooked em in my oven, but you still wanna get em tight.

Oh yeah!!! I know that dude. He's pretty chill but his Unicorn is a bastard. Goes around popping little kid's balloons with his horn. Someone needs to shoot that thing.

I found this post ironic due to your icon...

to the OP: dont trust any charts or stupid conversion sheets, all about the fit in a shop, cant be said enough times. get a used setup in good condition off here or at a ski swap or something. will most likely come with bindings and be a helluva lot cheap than retail
