Dude - I didn't say ~you~ photoshoped it! Easy there gunner. I'm just saying that it is odd that when most of Ontario was shut down, in this photo its still lit up, and that the colours don't match up.

Not every area of the blackout is out because some got power back before nightfall. I know we had our power back at 9:30PM here in western NY

Its a light radiation map, kinda like those national geographic maps, they just superimposed light sources onto a black background. It could be very easily faked, as i think it is because some backup systems were on in NYC.

It's obviously faked. Like the guy above said, why is the blackout area black, whereas the oceans are blue?

I saw a similar map that was a view of the whole world at night and it was really sweet. Anyone else see that, or have a link? And yes, I know they'd have to cut it all together because of the time zones, so don't come back with a smartass comment like that.

 
i was neer thunderbay ontario at the time of the black out, and there was no light in the intire city, but the photo is showing light there.

that pic doesnt make sense. why is eastern us black. and southern ontario where i live... is blue? we experienced that whole blackout thing too.. trust me it sucked ass..

Also, why is the continent all the same darkness. If it was taken near midnight in the East, it would be 9pm on the West Coast. In REAL pictures liek this, they take hundreds of little pics and put them together. And if it is a snap shot of the continent, then where are the clouds? It says it was taken at an exact time. There had to have been clouds SOMEWHERE!!! Because of this, real satalite pictures are taken from many, many different photos at different times.

just so u know that is a fake, for a satilite to get a image like that it has to be a composite of hundreds of sweeps. i dont know the exact time of each orbit but im almost positive that it could not make that many sweeps in the time the lights were out, and plus the ground where the blackout isnt reflecting back the same spectrum as any of the other uninhabited land in the full photohttp://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap001127.html
