Blackcomb opens sat the 5th!

Thats right, unless there is a dramatic change in the weather before then, blackcomb mountain will be open on saturday nov 5th with at least one run. Fuck Ya!
 
Oh I better get my pass in time... I know what I'm doing tomorrow. Hopfully my work sent all the paper work in!!! Oh god, I can feel the stress already
 
Anyone going up who can give me a ride on friday night? I'll pay my share of gas.
 
fuck i know. i dont have bindings on my new skis, gotta wax, my poles are half painted, have to work sunday (FUCK), need to quit work...

Oh my god better get up there to share the two t-bars with 2000 people. No thanks I'll wait cause in my opnion every Ausy and newbe to town will be there. See ya when it's not a waist of time.

u can get ur spirit passes before then possibly if ur manager is on the ball. cuz i dont think the chamber has had its meeting yet with all the businesses. the mtn has caught a lot of ppl off guard with this surprising but welcome news. but im with the other dude... ill wait til its open everyday and there arent 1000 ppl crammed onto 2 lifts skiing 2 runs..

oh and no there will probably not be a park the first weekend.. nows a good time to learn how to ski.

i love skiing. im not too cool to share a tbar with a stinky aussie. its not like theres any room on this damn mountain any ways. hey if you grumpy heads arent there. thats more room for me
 
my 4x4 better work by then! I don't know how much whistler got last night, but I heard baker got 70cm. Even if we were half that it'd be amazing.
 
According to the ski club guys it should be okay if you bring your receipt from when you signed up, that was their plan anyway... I emailed the pass dept at whis about it this morning but obviously haven't heard anything back yet.

You can bring your pink receipt to the Blackcomb Daylodge at the base of the Wizard Chairlift on Saturday where will have two check ins for 4Buy4 passholders. If we have processed your application then we will issue your pass or give you a day ticket so you can get up. You must bring your receipt, student id and drivers license or another form of picture id with your birthdate like a passport.

Fucking stupid SFU SKI sure as fuck forgot to, and I forgot to grab it. Now I'm screwed no skiing for me.
 
excellent, i just found someone to drive me, now i just need to clear it with the rents :S... shouldn't be THAT hard (even tho they hardly let me do anything), they understand my addiction.
 
Email from whistler lady about 4x4's

~We are definately opening....for those who have signed up early, and I picked up

the forms last week....we have now processed the passes. For all the

application forms I have picked up since last Friday, or the one's that I've not

picked up....I will arrange to pick most of them up by the end of this week.

However, it doesn't mean they will be processed.

Here's the plan:

1. Encourage students to bring their proof of purchase (the pink slip).

2. If their pass has not been processed, we may end up charging them for the 1st

day but will refund them as soon as the pass has been processed.

Either way, we will take care of them. Obviously, we will do our best under

these circumstances. It's a surprise to us all....but we are happy.~
 
you guys really think it'll be that bad? I was figuring you'd AT LEAST be able to lap jersey cream and hit a few rales or somthing
 
Also I doubt any tourist's had plans to come up and ski this weekend, I figure it'll only be vancouver and seattle day trippers and locals
 
i think it will be sweet.

there will at least be 100cm of natural snow, plus man made.

4 chairs or so will be open.

no tourists will be there. a lot of locals ive talked to wont even be there because they dont have passes, want to save their new gear, are stinky aussies, and just aint hardcore enough.

spirit passes will be available if your managers are on top of their game. 72 hours after you get the email you got it.

my manager hasnt sent the stuff in yet though. so i need to buy a lift ticket
 
:( the year i decide to leave and the F'ing mountain is opening early?!? oh my goodness. that's not fair.
 
I need a ride fellow skiers, preferably for 2 ppl cuz my friend wanted to go up too. I don't mind spending 2 hours in a trunk or a roof by the way, will put my share in for gas

Vid on whistlerblackcomb.com shows them hitting a rail and a box...last year they had a couple jibs set up. But I really want the pow.
