This is just cuz i cant ski and am bored so i figure id rant. Was at Whis last week enjoying the killer sun and super stoked on gettin my XL pass. Jumps were lookin suuuuuuuuper sweet. Testin out the big line without lookin at em first and clearin all of em on first try except the last one (60footer)...cased just b4 the knuckle, knees to noes and heel fucked! ( u hear from the chair: 'oooooooooo')

So ya, clearly check ur kickers out b4 hittin em.

peace!

that sucks dude

but the exact opposite of that happened to my friend 2 years ago and he broke his wrist and leg

yea, if im hitting a big line ive never hit before, i go through casually and look at the lips and landings and such, getting a good feel for the speed of the snow, looking at all the subtleties and what kind of speed i think i need, etc. Then doing some straight airs to get a feel for how it all works. Then its time to go at it.

yea i cased about a 45ish footer at PC today (second jump in jonesys) switch nonetheless, and just case, but landed flat on the table a few feet before the knuckle, and i had already checked the jumps and speed. just bad luck/wind gust i guess. prolly the worst/most painful case i've ever had.

yea you have to go completely straight into that jump from the table before it. 0 speed checking at all.

hmm...well perhaps its my skis. they haven't been waxed all season. I was tucking straight into it and landing perfectly.

last year one of my friends hit the last kicker in the xl park, he had wayyyy too much speed, overshot the landing by so fucking much, ate shit hard, smashed his head, the impact of his head hitting the ground even through his helmet softened his skull, and left him with no memory of most of the day. he wasn't able to do any physical activity for all of last winter and most of last summer, I don't know if he's allowed to ski this year, I just know that hes spent a lot on a remote control helicopter, so I assume he's not skiing this year either.

it just me but i check lips and landings for 2 runs then i pass them getting the feel for the snow on my 3rd run. then one i start hitting the jumps, (say its a 4 jump line) i never hit the last one untill i have the speed for the first 3 LOCKED. and then when i giv'er for the final jump i always tuck

but thats just me and im a totall bitch about jumps, too many of my friends have injured them selves real good cause of poorly built jumps.
