thats right, the underground railroad, which saved hundreds and hundreds of slaves' lives, was a method of bringing slaves into canada, where it was safe for them. we put our asses on the line to try to save lives of slaves, so don't say we didnt do shit about it.

 
naw actually im pretty sure the gloves the two are wearing are his. but he did have a pretty shitty ending after these olympics if i remember correctly i think he was ostracized for supporting them or something and ended up dying from something pretty early.
 
in case you care: they were all criticized and ostracized for their actions, but the two americans went on to pretty good shit. peter norman, the australian, is wearing a pin like theirs to show his support for their cause and was the one who suggested they each wear one glove because one of them had forgotten his pair (see how one's wearing the left glove and the other is wearing a right). peter norman also wasnt in the 72 olympics (4 years after) even though he got 3rd in trials. then he got gangrene after tearing his achilles and almost had to have it amputated, then he got into drinking and eventually had a hard attack in 2006. sad story
 
Canada wasn't exactly the paragon of tolerance either, look into your own history, Canadians have done their fair share of persecution, religious and ethnic. Look up who was able to get land out West, because I'll clue you, it wasn't the blacks. There was a pecking order, and blacks, along with several "undesirable" (to Canadians) types of people from central and eastern Europe, were at the very bottom.

actually it was the people in the underground railroad in the north and midwest united states that put their asses on the line. if the got caught, they got in trouble. once the slaves passed the canadian boarder, they were free. canadians couldn't get in trouble because of diplomatic immunity.
 
He got banned for awhile and then was un banned, didn't post and then the profile that got un banned got banned yesterday. They just have it in for the homogenized milk carton.
