Why do some black people feel it is their god-given right to personally make fun of white people just because there long lost ancestors were slaves? For example, I'm at school and shit, and little comments towards the general white population 'white boy who u tryin to be' and shit like that? I'm not saying that all black people are like that, just the ones who feel like they themselves are being 'oppressed by the white man' they are pretty pretencious and it pisses me off. My ancestors were in the holocaust and millions of them perished, you don't see me cursing off the Neo-Nazi's of today. Why can a black comedian make white jokes (which are still funny) but if a white guy got up on stage and said 'damnit, i hate niggers' he would get his ass kicked. Someone please explain this phenomenon. (By the way, this is in so way attempting to discriminate or be racist, plus i feel comfortable asking this online, and not to an african-american) if u take offense to this i dont really give a shit. im not racist, just confused.

what i never understood was why it is ok for a black person to call another black person a nigger, but its not ok for a white person to do it. My black friend tried to explain it to me one day... said it was a reversal of power, takeing a derogatory word and makeing it good, therefor takeing out power away. It kind makes sence, but when someone wants equal rights, they cant go arounds claiming things as their own that no one else can do... espicaly if its to say a word.

wow, I feel sorry for you guys, yeah it's confusing at times, but there is nothing in this post that even comes close to looking at it in another perpective. ignorant middle class white teenagers is right, I was and to some extent still one of them. My difference is I've lived in inner city and saw the true oppression that still exists to this day in the US. Not soley on one minority but all those in the inner city. Yeah it seems like the white man has to deal with crap, but it is nothing compared to what others are dealing with. Be carefull that you don't just look and assume anything toward anyone, you have no clue what they are going through. Equality is a word that lots of people use but it's not a practice many do, it has to start somewhere, don't wait for the other to start it.

I know that all just seems like wussy whiny crap, but think about it, try it. It's hard but try to break the tradition of judging others.

It should have nothing to do with fucking race. Poor people are not given the same oppurtunities as weatlhy people. Is a fact of life that will not change. Poor people do not want to be poor. Umm slavery was never just about black ppl in fact at first most slaves were white irish men iwth very few colored slaves. Sure it eventually went to black but the issue isnt slavery is it is the opression of the 20th century which was obvioulsy terrible. No doubt black ppl were put at a disadvantage to begin with but no doubt that most of them do sit back and expect handouts so no sympathy from me!!

There's this black girl that moved to our school, sad she is the only black person period here, and she is a total bitch. I mean she walks through the hallways saying shit like, ''Man all these white kids are in my way.'' I just want to go up to her and just give her the biggest toung lashing ever. She doesn't know me or anyone else for that matter to make such a comment. There are racial discrimination laws in place and they should be enforced for all people no matter their color or race. Sure they could say we inslaved them for hundreds of years, but you know what? It was not you that, not anyone in my family or ancestors, who enslaved them; It was your long dead relatives and you have no right to hold a grudge. They say equality for all, but themselves are keeping races seperated by your ignorant racial views. I was on the bus a few days ago and I had to make a run for it. I just made it on to the back of the bus. Then it dawned on me. More than half of the people on the back were blacks or arab-trying-to-be-blacks. I looked at the front and there was only one (40ish yr old) black man on the other 75% of the bus. Black people have been allowed to sit where ever for at least a generation, but still choose the back. I don't know what I'm proving but I just thought it was weird.

When are we taught the history of Black american or any minority other than that one month? Lots of history looks as though white men did everything. Yes there are differences, but none of those differences come from the color of their skin! There are much bigger issues here such as the desparity between the rich and the poor. Has our society not realized that yet?

i agree that many black people seem to hold an unfair double standard against us, but you have got to look at their situation. white people have dug them into a deep whole, look at history, not just slavery, but after that. blacks don't have the same opportunities you guys do, bottom line, and it used to be much worse. they have always been looked down upon and still pretty much are, whether we want to admit it or not. just take a different perspective. and as far as 'nigger' goes, it's offensive to them because of the word's history. cracker has no history behind it, no one gets offended by cracker. 'nigger' has so much hate behind it.

 
hey Jernt, when I'm taught history, I'm taught the history of a nation, my country, not the history of a specific race. Yeah, theres alot of white people that stick out, but thats just cause black people never really had the opportunity to prove themselves and make something of themselves in society. But when they did, we still learn about them, it doesnt matter what month it is, we still are taught it.

After saying that, I'm not against black history month, it doesnt bother me in the least. But I could go for a pizza.
