Black History Month

Today is the first day of Black History Month. I know you don't really care about this so write what you want about it.
 
I'm talking about people like Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks not a song or music group give some respect man.
 
Black History Month is a great thing and all, don't get me wrong. But if we, in this country at least, are going to continue to hold race in such high esteem it is only for the worse. All it does is breed reverse racism and inequality.
 
its not an all black school. It's an african focused school so they would learn more about their race. Whites and asians can go to it too.
 
i want to know why there is a BET and not a WET?

if i made a white entertainment television i would be labeled a racist pig and shunned out of the world......

i dont want an all white TV station i just think there is a strong double standard when it comes to these things sometime....
 
God, I don't know what to do with myself when February rolls around. Between Black History Month, Library Lovers Month, Pet Dental Health Month, and Lactose Intolerance Awareness Month...I just overdose on all the excitement.
 
I thought Canadians payed substantially higher taxes to cover costs of free social services? Could be wrong on that though.
 
no your right in a sense that it's not free, but when someone series shows up my family won't need to take out a second mortgage or shell out money we don't have, plus having a family physician around that doesn't cost 100 bucks a visit is kinda nice.
 
is there any way to celebrate black history month without bringin up racism?

Like im not trying to be a dick but I really dont see how it works, we are remembering black peoples anccestors taht were bought into slavery and sold like a product amongst america. Yea thats horrible but why do we have to go on a guilt trip for a striaght month about this, i mean jews had the holocaust, native americans had christopher columbus murdering their ass, chineese and irish people were put into slaverey too. Im not saying that slaverey isnt that big of a deal, its just like why doesnt everyone else get a month or a day
