hey from spring and riding in kinda dirty snow.. my bases look like they absorbed mud/shit snow into em. there darker than normal. i dont wanna wax em and end up waxing this shit into them. ive tried to clean em but it doesnt seem to go away. how can u really clean ur bases before i wax them again?

you need to get them stone ground. what it's from is over the whole winter, shit falls off trees, lifts, people, etc, and just gets embedded in the snow, and as it melts it just sits on top and accumulates. it always pisses me off. i'm sure you could just scrub em real good, but stone grind would be the best

my bases were also dirty from skiing in dirty snow. Then it snowed here and I skied in it and the bottoms are more normally colored.

If you take the cork thingy you use after wax and rub it down really good and hard it should work.

We have an old saying down on the bayou....Blehhhhh!!!

use citris cleaner, u can buy a half galon at home depot for $3, or wax them, the wax acctuly sucks out all the crap and when the wax is still hot scrap it off, you will notice that the wax is really dirty after u scrape it off. If u use citris cleaner wax them right after or else it will dry out the bases.

^exactly what he said. the base cleaner is exactly the same as the expensive real stuff. clean them and wax them, an if that dont work: base grind. deep

Let me tell you something, bendeco. You pull any your crazy shit with us, you flash a piece out on the lanes, I'll take it away from you and stick it up your ass and pull the fucking trigger til it goes 'click'.

or use of soft wax and scrape it off whille it is still warm right after you iron it

I'd be careful with lighter fluid, not the best for your bases. you're better off using a citrus based cleaner like orange glo or something like that....there are a million of em' out there.

The brown poop stuff is probably pollution deposits in the snow from things like car exhaust, smoke stacks, wood fires etc. It generally sits in the bottom of the snow so when it starts to melt it all comes out (the temp also has to be above freezing). I wouldn't recommend wax until this 'poop' stuff is gone. Just keep your cleaner near....

my bases got super black from the stuff at sauveur,it made me ski so much better i was mesmerized...fuck it wont do shit to your skiing, leave it on

1st try a hot scrape if that doesnt work

2nd use citrus base cleaner if that doesnt work

3rd have em stone ground that will definitely work

none of you guys even have a clue to what the fuck you are talking about. lighter fluid will dry your base out, hot waxing is not going to make shit come out of your base, haha. but as alpentalik said base cleaner and it only costs like maybe 12.00 for a bottle and it will last you forever.

fuk that

my hill this year had the black stuff HORRIBLY. after a run your bases would be black. you would stop moving unless you pushed. we cleaned it with WD-40.

its onyl cosemetics expecially in the spring. the snows already so wet that some dirt in your base is not gonna slow you down. get a base grind at the begining of next season and you'll be fine.
