Bitcoin

So who here's rich AF now? Seems like everyone is debating back when it was $145 now it's ~$2,700

Don't be deceived by the surge in bitcoin, bitcoin is a dumpster fire that is about to explode, in the bad kind of way. Ethereum is where it's at now. growing way faster than btc

Basically ether is the currency of ethereum. It has risen something like 2,900% over the last year, and many think it is the best cryptocurrency to invest in because of how popular it is becoming. Apparently it has uses beyond merely being a cryptocurrency but I don't know anything about that side of it.

Bitcoin is getting really fucked up because there is currently a civil war of sorts unfolding over how to best handle scaling the blockchain. They can't reach a consensus, so nothing has been done. There are currently way too many bitcoin transactions backlogged, up to 200k at the worst of times. As a result, transactions can take hours to days to complete unless you pay a high transaction fee. transaction fees have also reached crazy levels. 100$ now costs about 4$ to send in a timely manner, it used to cost like 20 cents. The developers refuse to increase the size of the blocks, which would allow more transactions to be processed.

Ohhh, ok thank you for the explanation. I'll probably do a little more research just to completely understand it. If I had an extra $255 laying around Id get into Ether

HOW THE FUCK do I buy Ethereum without given away all my personal information. As for the exchanges they're worse than mobile phone companies when it comes to support and emailing. Can not get verified, want to track and ID me, bitcoin and crypto needs be decentralized and private!

you don't. Most exchanges are federally required to collect such information. Not that I like that, but it's the way its been

I'll gladly sell bitcoin to anyone if they want no sign up required :)

BE CAREFUL FOLKS, people who are eager to sell bitcoin privately are often scammers, because if they scam you, you have no course of action against them. Stick to etablished exchanges and other methods such as bitcoin atms if you want a more secure transaction.

All they have to do is not send you the bitcoin if you're silly enough to pay beforehand, and there's nothing you can do. This guy may very well be trying to prey upon cryptocurrency newbies and take their money.

Sorry to call you out, it's nothing against you, I don't know you, but I've been deep in the bitcoin and darknet world for years and I see the exact scam that I've described all the time.

Yeah dude that was pretty weak. This is newschoolers not the tor network. I've made plenty of transactions on here, selling btc here is no different than selling an ignant vest. Just wanted to throw it out there if anyone wants to get involved without a bunch of coinbase bull.

I hope you didn't get rid of them...

I bought drugs with them .... I've probably gone through about a thousand bitcoin back when they were under 20$... from 2008 - 2010 I dealt with bitcoin almost exclusively to get weed which i bought and sold on campus. If i had never smoked weed i would never have bought bitcoin. but regardless I don't have any bitcoin now. I stumbled through one of my wallets about a year back and found .08 which i sold.

It's very depressing looking back at this and realizing what My life could be right now if I had any sort of intelligence.... I keep telling myself bitcoins will plummet and its just a bubble... but follks bitcoin is now traded like, and is more sought after than any commodity. It is the future of free trading... but when the world gets fucked over, the dollar won't save you and bitcoin won't save you. Only gold and skill will save you.

God I wish I had gotten in when it was selling for $0.10. I'd be able to retire with only a $5000 investment.

took my own advice. went all in between 2018-2020. looking forward to the next 9-12 months.

I feel bad for everyone in here saying it was peaking when it was at around 100 bucks. Considering it capped at 41k a few days ago... if only they knew what it was gonna turn into.

And, as soon as the pandemic hit, bitcoin crashed to 3600 for one day in march, they got back up to 7k. If you invested even 7k in march your profit would be close to 80k

I feel fortunate to have got in around summer especially ETH, have only seen about 3k in growth but not bad for not doing anything

Bitcoin is great because it will force the fed to stop being such benjamin queefers with printing money. If everybody plows their money into bitcoin, the dollar will eat an unprecedented amount of shit.

money is a faith game, and bitcoin has alot of faith going for it right now. And they cant print new btc so its even better of an inflation hedge than gold which gets unearthed daily.

Something is going to snap at some point tho. I dont know what,,, but...

If the fed is like a shitty burger place that sells shitty burgers for 20$ then btc is like a five guys or in and out burger opening up across the street selling great burgers for 7$.

Maybe this was discussed already but I heard in the radio this story of an early guy in Bitcoin did this commercial on YouTube for them like 10 years ago, and this low budget shit show firm paid him 7000 bitcoins as payment. Well, fast forward to 2020 and that is now worth 300 million dollars and his password glitched out and he can’t collect. I would probably legit kill myself but he appears to be handling it well. ?‍♂️?

This thread has aged like a fine wine. Kicking myself for not holding onto the bitcoins I bought when I started this thing 8 years ago...

Do you still hold any? I actually owe it to this thread for making me aware of bitcoin in 2013. I made my Coinbase account that year but unfortunately didn't purchase any until 2018. Now I'm deep in the rabbit hole and spend my days researching all things crypto.

yup, i dumped a few grand of savings back in february when it was $35. i was thinking about selling when it hit $80 but i've held on. might sell soon though.

I've used bitinstant/bitfloor/coinbase to buy.

where's your gold standard god now, libertarians?

Hard to believe if this guy held he’d have $3.5 million.

I’ve been holding some bitcoin and ETH since mid-2017 and slowly adding to those positions since. Definitely up a lot on those investments but nowhere near where I would be if I kept what I had when I made this thread...

all you bitcoin nerds who think you're making good money doubling up on bitcoin should get into the stock market and make some real returns.

I'm going go ahead and give that to GOLD where you don't get fucked over with insane fees. Oh and gold actually exists. Oh and there's unlimited crypto currencies floating around where gold is finite. Oh and crypto is volatile AF. Oh and no one actually accepts crypto currency. Oh and Gold is tangible and backed by the world economy.

I think btc is still a buy tbh.

its the best inflation immune asset i am aware of.

You sound pretty sure of yourself, chief. Just took a look at the gold charts and it looks like it’s up 10% in the 8 years since I made this thread. Nice. I guess bitcoin is only up 20,000% or so since I made this thread. Where would you have parked your money if you could go back?

Glad someone found this thread i was looking for it 6 months ago.

it’s crazy how much fiat onboarded to the msrket yesterday—-by way of Dogecoin lol

Vechain——>this year’s XRP

haha yea man I made 400% in Dogecoin so I'm an absolute fraud.
