Birthday skis!

the lesser very-infrequently-logging in lurker arises from his post hibernation...

So its my birthday coming up, and i want new skis

Im about 6'1, 65kgs, ski park and all mountain, im in australia so theres no pow to speak of, but im thinking of heading to the states next year, and id still have this ski then

I was previously skiing pipe cleaners, and loved them, except for decent pow performance (i wnet to japan) and also butters, so something a little softer, and better in pow would be sweet

The skis im looking at are:

Armada Alpha 1: seems pretty good, stiff but the rocker will help for butters, not much use in pow though?

Kung Fujas: skied them once in pow and loved them, float me fine, but im not sure if theyd be any good for park

Moment Rockers: these skis seem awesome, bet fatter, and softer. Anyone one know how they go all mountain/pow?

finally

Nighttrains: mostly cos they look awesome, coolest name ever, and for pow. Anyone skied these in the park? How do they go?

Feel free to give other recommenddations on skis and bindings

Cheers

i have seen Mark Dvorak ride night trains in the park and he was killing it, no hes still on faction, just broke his bindings or something

My most recent skis were Rossi Scratch FS, Walls, AR5s and AR6s all mounted dead centre or very close to it. The Rockers go significantly better in pow than any of these, partly due to the ~5mm extra width under foot and partly due to the rocker. I'm living in Japan and we had a 2 foot dump this week and they went surprisingly well for a centre mounted park ski. They were actually fun in deep pow as opposed to being a burden to get down the hill like all the other park skis.

Around the moutain, they're much more fun for mucking around off small hits and stuff but they're also definitely the worst of the bunch for higher speed carving. They ski like a very short ski due to the early rise tips. They're not a pain to turn or get around the mountain like many full on pow skis but they're just not good for high speed carves.

sweet, thanks for the review on the moments

currently headin towards the moments or the kung fujas

anyone know how the kungs handle in butters/ the park?
