I have to answer this question for biology for tommorrow, and i really cant find the answer anywhere...so if anyone knows and can tell me thad be great.

Question: Von Helmont was unaware of gases in the atmosphere; therefore he measured only the amount of soil and presumed the plant tissue all came from the water added. Today, we can label molecules with radioisotopes and trace where they travel. Where would we find carbon dioxide labeled with radiocarbon?

is that the whole question? seems like there should be some more background info

and no, i dont think the answer is carbon dating, thats for fossils/how old things are, not where carbon is located

yes thats the whole question. We dont even have any notes on this, and its not in our book so i have no idea what to even write.

i have no idea then man, could be from the plant, the soil, the water... i think carbon has something to do with acid rain, but that might be sodium, i have no idea. good luck man

you would find the CO2 going through the Calvin Cycle in the chloroplast. The carbon is being incoporated into organic molecules by carbon fixation. it's being reduced to sugar.

if you ignore the whole first part of the question, then this seems right to me.

killswitch's answer makes a lot of sense if you only use the first and last sentences. Looks good to me.

i typed in the last sentence to google and two results said carbon 14 dating. i went with it haha

Logic is working to stock up on premade hats so our store is closed for now. If you have a suggestion don't hesitate to e-mail me.
