Bio/Misty

You're high.

Watch TIm McChesney or Matt Walker throw rodeos (particularly over 7) and tell me why you couldn't call them bios ala CR Johnson in Ski Movie III. To take it a step further, post a vid of a flattish rodeo 5 and see what sort of debate ensues.

Bottom line: Bios and Mistys don't look all that similar (now mistys and overflips...there's an argument), but definitively labeling inverted/off axis tricks is difficult and largely subjective.

"sick rodeo"

"actually... that was a flatspin.. see his feet didn't technically go above his-"

the only true battle

A misty is the exact same thing as an overflip. There is no such thing as an overflip because it is a misty.

BTW this was all told to me by Turpin

I'm not going to offer a drawn out explanation, you've already made it clear that you're essentially clueless. All you have to do is look at video of the new-fangled "rodeos", then look at footy of 2002 bios.

Rodeos involve dropping shoulders and spinning...when spinning a rodeo over 5 or 7, the spin is set harder than the "flip", thus the "flip/dip/drop" doesn't really start until 180ish. Sooooo, even though you're laying "back" often your leaning towards the landing ala bio.

That's all I'm going to say. Anyone who can actually throw rodeos on snow knows what I'm talking about.

You're just plain wrong. So is Turpin.

Overflips do/can look almost identical to a misty 5, but they're different.

Overflip= 90+downhill lincoln+90 The trick has three distinctive parts, and basically looks like a no-handed round off.

Misty 5s are smoother, and are pretty much frontflips with a 180, where as the the spin and flip are happening simultaneously.

well theyre thrown basicly the same way except you dont follow all the way through on the bio its more just to get you sideways

That has to be sarcastic. If not, you should probably weigh the pros and cons of killing yourself.

turpin's not wrong

a misty is NOT simply a front flip 180, thats a barani

think of a misty as going up to a picnic table while running, then dropping one shoulder and rolling along it

they can be done in different styles of course, but in certain ways, they are exactly the same as an overflip

it really is the same thing

and in the end, it really doesnt matter, its not a huge deal, ski tricks just arent that black and white, in comparison to say, a kickflip and a varial

oh and spinning and flipping backwards does not mean its corked

its often a d spin, or just a really shitty full

that gets messed up often too
