Bindings with Pivot Heel

Is it possible to find any of the old look/rossi bindings that have a pivot heel anymore? And if so where. I'm trying to pick myself up a pair of the p18 races or something. I was thinking about using the px 15 jib but I'm not sure if I trust the px heel. Thanks.
 
Ive got a pair, love them to death and will not sell them. There mounted on my PEs and are the only thing good about that pair of skis.
 
pretty sure this'll go in gear talk. but i've used FKS bindings on my old TM's (turntable heel) and i've got PX15's on my new ones, and i must say that the px's are bomber. they seem way more solid than the turntables, especially when goin fast/jumping. I do however like the short mounting distance on the turntable style bindings cuz it gives you more tail to the ski, but i really havent noticed it that much w/ my PX's. The 15's are still all metal and are super sturdy.
 
best bindings ever made... Its pretty hard to find someone who will actually sell theirs but its possible. I know the 12 din turntables go for about 100-125 but other then that i couldent tell ya.
 
the only way to describe them is bomb proof. i have a pair im willing to let go. they are the blue p15 race binding. if your interested pm me. to add befor ypu write me they dot have any breaks. but thats for yu to figure out. i had them on helbents and just used a telemark break strap. it worked fine.hit me up im you or anyone is interested.
 
if you can't find any I highly recommend the head/tyrollia mojo 15. bomber binding, pivot heel, light, metal(ish), cheap. good alternative.
 
It's not so much that I'm worried about them breaking, as it is that I don't want them to suck. I've had trouble with bindings not releasing at the right times recently.
 
i have a pair of 14 din rossignol axial 140 race stocks with pivot heals (the ones that pivot a little bit but not all they way around) that i might sell soon, PM me.
 
call me a n3wb but why did look/rossi quit making the turntable heels? and i have 2 pairs of p18 race stock bindings, i might let one pair got if the price is right.
 
It must be cheaper to make the new ones because I don't understand why they discontinued such a popular binding.
 
the new PX's are a shit ton cheaper to make than the pivot heel bindings, and they test out just as well as the pivots and in my opinion feel a little more solid.
 
yeah i thought so too, then my brother broke his under rotating a five on a thirty foot table, soft landing too, brake broke off, heel cracked and slid backward
 
They redesigned the pivot binding because of release problems. The pivot heel and a certain angle was the equivalent of a super high din setting. The manufacturing cost played a minor factor in the redesign, I presume.
 
Yeah, their new design sure doesn't suffer from "release problems".... unless of course you consider bindings that fall off at the slightest breeze a problem.

I've seen more people pre-release for no reason out of that new design, than any binding in history. Bad move Look/Rossi, bad move.
 
rossignol and look stoped making thier fks and p bindings this year but there are still alot out there...
 
pivots are the best bindings ever made! px's are ok, but they prerelease so damn easily, i took mine to two different shops and a rossignol rep guy for their bindings in whistler, he was some like binding specialist, all he was doing all day was adjusting bindings for racers, and even when he tried to fix it it kept pre releasing.
 
I swear I'm just going to start duct taping my foot into my bindings and putting my din on 12 if my Looks keep pre releasing
 
i just ripped out of the track and completely warped the heelpiece sideways on my rossi scratch 140's.

my old pivots were bombproof 'cept for the brakes.
 
check your fwd pressure. i had that problem at first w/ some px 12s, but if you get your fp dialed they're fine.
 
Sorry, PX's are shit.

Even the metal ones, my brother went through two pairs of them this year.

Mine i don't even ski anymore because im scared on them. They're a useless binding, and theers MUCH better out there.
 
yea i ripped out the heal pecie on mine and i know two of my other friends that had the same problem and over all i just dont really like them all that well. but i have fks now so its all good
 
there is a big difference between the px racing (15 and 18) and the px consumer (12 and 14 din)

and physically the px heel is much less likely to rip out of a ski then the fks heel, So either the guy who mounted your skis fucked up, or you have a ski with a shitty week ass core (K2?)
 
I have a pair of rossi axial 140s that are bomb. I have had them on park skis for 3 or 4 seasons now and they hold me in well. The brake apparatus started breaking this year, and they tore out of my fujis as the begining of the season, but a little clever shop work and they are shredding just as well.
 
The only problem I've had with my Look bindings is that the heel piece kept breaking off. My heel piece broke off twice this season and it was a pain in the ass.
 
i think i understand the question, so to answer, the pivoting heel action of fks and older p-style bindings enable an extremly solid conection between the skier and the ski, as well as being the most safest binding available when you are in a crash, because the heel will come out in some awkward falls that others wont, yet they dont pre-release.
 
a cross between fks and axial 1 would be the most baller binding ever. Axial 1 have worm screw adjustment and replaceable breaks but get play in the heel while fks have everything else almost dialed
