Bindings Suggestions for Line EP Opus

I have just purchased the Line Opus 185s and am not sure what to buy in terms of bindings. I am 6'0" and weight about 170 pounds and I like to ski moderately aggressively. Also will probably be used in the park to a moderate extent

I'd say salomon sth driver 14. Although I'm guessing you could get away with a binding that only has a din max of 12

Exactly what I had on those skis before! Fantastic bindings...but do they still make the 14? I thought it was only 12 or 16 now.

I assume they do... this year Atomic is making the FFG 14 Team which is just a STH 14 Driver with different paint, so I figure Solly will still be making their version of it.

I don't have much experience with bindings and whatnot, so I have to ask, given the 118 waist of the ski, a 115 binding is big enough?

Yup. The shop might have to give the brakes the slightest tweak outward but we're talking a whole 1.5mm on each side, no big deal.

Any binding 14 and upwards would suffice. Look for the full metal construction bindings such as the FKS18 or the STH16. I wouldn't buy Jesters as I have had a lot of problems with the heel peice sliding back on the rail meaning I pre-release, I have found this problem with Griffons,Barons and Jesters however it seems to be happening most frequently with my current Jester set-up.

why do people think the sth16 is full metal?

not that it isn't one of the best 16 din bindings on the market , but it is far from being full metal, the sth 16 steel (916) is full metal

its a lightweight fat ski with no metal in it. so you need a lightweight binding capable of holding you in. I would not mount FKS on any ski that didnt have a sheet of metal. Your odds of pulling that binding out of a non metal ski are rather high.

Big thing to consider for a deep pow ski is how easy it is to get into the binding. STH is great for this reason. I have personally had problems with these pre-releasing in butters and had to crank the dins higher than I would want to. The Rossi axial 14s are another good one for this ski.

I also agree about not putting FKS in non metal skis especially ones as soft as that.

I ended up finding a great deal on a pair of Atomic FFG Team 14's and have purchased those, but thank you all very much for the input.

Im thinking about putting some Marker Barons on the opus, anyone done that and how do they like them? also do I really have to spend another $50 to get the wider brake or can I just bend them out to make them work? Thanks Guys!

marker jesters! they look so fly on the opus's and thats what pollard uses ;) also sth drivers 14 or 16 is what my buddy has and he likes them
