Bindings/Mounting/re-mounting question

So I have pretty limited knowledge in terms of bindings, them being mounted, and their adjustability. If a binding is mounted for a 28, is it able to adjust it back to a 25.5?
 
yea a shop will be able to remount it will affect the structure of the ski dependin on how many times its been remounted but should be fine
 
I mean adjustable without remounting. It's only been mounted once before the current mount which is mounted for a 28. My boots now are a 25.5. Is this an absolute must remount? I have no problem remounting, and the original mount holes were filled professionally, I'm just trying to get a feel for what I'm going to have to do with these skis/bindings when i get them.
 
i think the general rule is that most bindings can adjust 1 size in each direction so a remount is probably going to be necessary

hahah that's wack. yeah that's why I didnt have Karma until recently eventhough I've been a member for so long, I stopped going to the forums cause there's so much ungrounded hate. Oh well, thanks for answering my questions guys, much appreciated
 
Most bindings have an adjustable heel piece that can slide forwards and backwards to accommodate more then one boot size. Have you checked the range of your current bindings heel piece track to see if there is any chance of them fitting your boot?

Also, if this is the third remount, you need to consider the current set of holes in the ski plus the previous set of holes. The new mount (the third one) will have to be placed so none of the previous holes are affecting it. This can make picking a spot to mount semi difficult as your options can be limited by the previous mounts holes and their pattern.

My suggestion: When you take them to the shop, see if the tech is busy and if they aren't see if they can do your stuff right away (be nice!). That way when they pull the bindings off they can show you whats up and where you can remount (again, be nice!)

 
so even if the previous holes were professionally filled they'll limit my mounting options? Right now they're mounted at center for size 28 i think. I have a size 25.5 and I'm trying to keep the mount center. I'm guessing it'd be hard to estimate if that remount is do-able without having the ski itself, but any thoughts if it will work?
 
It can be done (you can remount and be at center again) but I cant say for certain since Im not a tech and I haven't seen your skis. The past two mounts, plus the screw configuration of the bindings you will be using for the third mount, will dictate what options you will have. A good ski tech will know all of this though, just make sure to be clear when you take them in about what you know about your skis (past mounts) and what you want (setup wise, in your case, center) for this one.

Dont worry though, if the worst case scenario happens and you end up being a 1cm or 2cm behind center because center wasnt an option, you'll barely notice anyways :)
